People sure like throwing these buzz phrases around, yet they always seem to stay subbed. Maybe it’s sunk cost, maybe they just like complaining for the attention…who’s to say
They don’t have the guts OR the willpower to unsub and find a new game they enjoy. Too much time invested here, so they will never leave and continue to complain. Just how it goes.
It could very well be that, my brain tends to make me think they just enjoy being miserable and their misery is not only a direct consequence of their own actions but entirely intentional as a form of self sabotage.
It’s been bad at times. We’re in uncharted territory with the state of the game combined with the blatant greed.
You mean the for-profit company trying to make a profit to get MS back the $74M they spent a year ago?
in the year 40k, we will have wow still playing on a pc run by 200 magical cartridges that is run by a giant skeleton on a golden throne.
just so we can all play wow across the galaxy.
I don’t mind greed, I don’t even mind paying for microtransactions. What matters to me is the company making that greed justifiable via a well maintained product. I don’t want my faceless corporation to care about me I want them to care about the product and make it as good as they can, obviously it’s going to be a while until Blizzard gets back on their feet in the PR spotlight and this anniversary despite the negative reviews and the bugs I think came from a good place and was created out of passion and was just executed poorly. Overall I think the game is headed in the right direction, it is just going to take time to adjust course.
Is this about the bruto mount? It’s fine. Just deactivate it for rated content.
Yea the one that charges people for each and every expansion, which has now had an accelerated window of 18 months to incur more purchases. The same one charging a monthly subscription that is supposed to include all of the features within the game but now we’re locking QoL improvements behind money anyway. It’s the same company that now is willing to destroy their launch-day experience for everyone in order to milk another $40 out of some folks for the early access. The same one that followed up this first time early access charge with a brand new record-setting price of mount, followed by a $265 mount in the chinese market that isn’t even as advertised (It’s called flying swift spectral tiger, but the actual swift spectral tiger has armor on the legs and tail so they’re getting a flying version of the lesser mount for almost $300). The one that makes back $74M in the blink of an eye without doing all the borderline shady things they’ve been participating in lately.
No this is about every time Blizzard does anything and the doomsayers flood the forums warning us of the end times.
This game ebbs and flows. I play other things when it’s ebbing.
I’m unsure why people still pay real money for their subscriptions, the amount of available WoW tokens on the market are so plentiful it’s a wonder why anybody ever spends real money on the game anymore when you can just turn 200k gold into 15 dollars.
You seems a bit mad for all of this voluntary stuff. Maybe, if the juice is not worth the squeeze, and you feel scammed, it might be time to cancel the sub, and not invest in future versions of the game. Some of us are not worried about paying a sub, or $90 for early access, or another $90 for a cool mount. But it seems to have you angry as a hornet’s nest.
Well, the brutosaur no doubt took a nice big chunk out of that and it’s not even close to January 5th yet.
Self sabotage…you hate to see it.
Not just the mount, but the amount of tokens sold to make more gold to farm the Brut. I figured Blizz made just north of $1M the other day between the mounts and the tokens.
Oh yeah, easily $1M.
The community isn’t anymore toxic than any other part of the internet, maybe being online just isn’t for you.
Sure there have been a few names over the years I remember repeatedly announcing their departure … but funny thing is, I don’t see those names any more.
Remember, this is coming from a few hundred people in a forum of a few thousand people out of a player base of a few million people. When you start with millions you can always find a few people who will say just about anything.
