For months people rerolled to UHDK because Gargoyle was absurdly broken and they would literally be a 3 button spec that dominated all PvE meters and would destroy people in arenas with zero counter play.
I remember some matches in 2s where the gargoyle was 80% of a DKs DPS and it shred through casters like butter.
Enjoy the nerf, enjoy months of your reroll FoTM time being burned, I hope all the GDKP/RMT gold you spent on gear goes to waste.
All these DK players whining rn were the ones giving us grief months ago when we called them out on playing a brainless spec, and we’re finally validated by Blizzard that we were right all along.

Well in this classic state Gary is also 50% stupid and thinks he’s a rogue sometimes…
Why not just cap at 60 casts. That’s about 180k, limits the snapshotting cheese people do, and you still have a snapshot play style.
This change is just boring, I think it will prolly just be 160-180k gargs anyway. But now I don’t get the rush of snapping.
Capping also let’s me know how much he’s gonna do too. Vs dynamically scaling and hoping he doesn’t melee during meta/pot/black magic, if he melees I don’t get full value.
If he’s snappshotting still I still get all 3 of those buffs even tho he meleed. A bit less frustrating.
Or just fox the fact that he will sit there and be a rogue for 10 seconds and melee KT 37 times.
Huh? Gargoyle was In no way shape or form dynamic in wotlk, nor did he melee. In fact. When you summoned him he was never even in the targets hitbox in 3.3.5. (Go watch kill videos).
Cata pre patch got the dynamic garg. And in retail garg has been trash since cata. And even cata it was trash, you just didn’t have another option.
And every spec in classic is boring at its basic level, when you try and push a spec that actually has decisions involved they become more fun -example uhdk, affi lock, demo lock.
Yeah I can see that, I guess for me I never put UHDK in that category because Gargoyle did a bulk of their DPS which is as simple as snapshotting buffs into a NPC that was utterly destroying mobs/players whenever it was out.
It shouldn’t never been like that in the first place is my point, it was very obviously a bug even Blizzard acknowledged for some time now and a lot of people have continually brought it up since launch of Wrath.
They just didn’t know, uhdk went through so many changes I believe they just couldn’t find it. Hell on beta he was fixed and fixed again like 10 times.
Psure he did have a gcd. Which would literally solve the issue similar to just capping his casts
They will just go frost as it still does as much as assassination, affliction and demo. That is what I do with my DK since I always hated unholy and dw frost was my favorite in wrath.
On the bright side, you will see unholy go 2h scourge strike as was intended.
Don’t know if you’ve ever taken much time to look at how the spec works but non-horde guilds with clear times averaging 90s plus UHDK doesn’t currently beat out locks or assass rogues for dmg.
