The Difficulty in porting WoW to Xbox is *not* the number of buttons. It is the UI

To be fair, on XIV, “mechanics” are just “move out of the way”.

The Kameli Special.

“Stand and let things resolve.”

Are WoW raids much different though?

Eh some. Click this, etc. I mean, they could make them simply “move” but people may get mad.

That’s how most of the fights are here already.

I think M+ is a better comparison to show the differences in combat style.

that, “kill insert thing before the Boss finishes charging his attack”, “hide behind convieniently placed obstacle” and “see what color the boss shows, stand in the opposite color” make up the vast majority.

then there is that one boss whose first attack reduces the entire party to 1HP.

and the one that makes you do math. shudder

It’s actually pretty amazing that they can continue to make fun, engaging fights with such a limited variation of mechanic types.

TSM is not required to get sales.

TSM is one addon that I do not use. I downloaded it, opened it, looked at it one good time, said “nope” and uninstalled it. I use Auctionator, but mainly just for the AH prices in my tooltips.

I may try it again one of these days when I take up a non-gathering tradeskill on one of my characters.

Hmm, I didn’t read the post, but there’s absolutely no reason why the world of warcraft shouldn’t be on the Xbox.

Who cares? The forum will be filled with complaints anyway.

It’s definitely the number of buttons.

It’s the engine, which isn’t built for console.

Stupid question, It looks like the Xbox x has 2 usb ports , so why cant you just plug a wireless keyboard and mouse in to it and sit on the sofa? The only thing i would do is maybe make a keyboard with a rollerball instead of a mouse and TA DA , you are done.

I mean , the internet has clip on qwerty boards for the Xbox X controller , but would it not be a pain in the backside to type one handed , while holding the controller with the other hand? I would just default a wireless keyboard and play on the coffee table.

They havent even finished the new UI for PC introduced in Dragonflight. They just stopped development after releasing it buggy and with many, many items unmovable and unsizable. Then there are the issues where its it totally broken with older content like garrison monuments.

How the hell would you even heal on a controller? Imagine trying to target the correct person on a +20 man group.

You can use a keyboard and mouse I’m 99% sure with xbox or playstation (it just has to be an app that enables the option, but in terms of hardware, there’s no issue), so the controller thing is kind of a red herring.

A port to Xbox will happen at some point, and Phil Spencer will be the one who announces it when it does.

Along with all the enthusiasm it brings with it.

I’ve played wow with an xbox controller, but not since dragonflying was introduced. It was fine to do gathering or just hang out but it wasn’t great for much else. Too many actions needed and not enough buttons.

Diablo is a good example of unnecessary difficulty required. It’s annoying to play it on a controller with how much button pressing you need to do to do any item inventory and things. It’s much better on PC. Wow is the same, its better on PC and anyone using xbox to play will not have as easy a time.

lolwut

I absolutely cannot fathom playing Diablo IV on a M/KB. Playing on a Controller just feels natural there. and I despise click-to-move anyway.
