People just do not play seriously in this mode at all. I have never seen so much griefing and trolling ever in PvP. The devs were completely right to not want to add solo queue Rated BGs.
I agree. But it is very very popular. And there is no going back.
The drop off of participation a month into S1 was massive because of the trolling and griefing that goes unpunished. It will be the same this time as well.
most of the drop off in participation has to do with people capping conquest or doing the weekly quest. You see the same thing on a weekly rotation where Tuesday has some of the worst “gg go next” spamming lobbies because the activity from people logging in to cap their points once a week is higher.
The same happens to a larger extent once gearing is finished for the season, leaving only new people dipping their toes in, alts, and people who are actively fans of the format.
Instead of taking a break, people rage queue and take their bad attitudes into a new lobby, bringing the whole vibe down. With blizzard doing anything that is not M+ Delves or Raid at snail pace, the pvp community once again always shooting itself in the foot instead of being a force to reckon with. Clown suits for all.
Or it’s because there’s not really any rewards for participating in PvP after you reach the rating you want. We have no PvP renown track, no badges to earn for cosmetics (marks of honor don’t count, I have like 2 thousand of those), and you can get conquest capped for the week after doing a few quests.
Why is everyone surprised that participation falls off after most people have achieved their goals for the season?
So to be clear, you think the drop off in participation doesn’t happen in the first month, despite there being a conquest cap, but it does happen after the first month? That makes no sense and is just coping.
It’s a mishandled and poorly implemented mode.
It happens on a weekly basis during the first month. Tuesday has a massive amount of people in queue comparison to the other days of the week, because people log in on reset day, cap their points, and logout until the next Tuesday. I queue most days of the week early in the season, and you can reliably predict when the people who just want points for gearing will be online or offline. You can also see this very clearly on weeks when the “earn honor in rated battlegrounds or battleground blitz” quest is active, as lobby quality takes a nosedive during those weeks.
Once most people are fully geared, all brackets experience a loss of participation at the bottom end.
This is not new or exclusive to Blitz.
Meh, it’s not perfect. Still better than randoms though. I’d play it without the rating (and I did).
Except people play it like randoms and grief their team causing people to quit playing it.
Random/epic BG Q’s seem to be doing fine. Maybe Q for some of those and get your pvp on.
At what MMR? I haven’t see that at 2.2-2.4
So why it takes me an hour constantly to get a queue pop? So popular /s
If you look at number of games played, at any of the sites that pull those numbers from Blizz’ API, in comparison to say arena 3v3, the numbers for the solo Q randoms (shuffle or Blitz) are extremely high. Solo rated is very very popular, just harder to get matches the higher ya go. Blitz in particular is the most played.
It is not as popular as random/epic BGs. None of the rated stuff ever will be. Get you’re pvp on there if the wait is too long. Or get some friends and Q for 3v3. Or wait.
The OP here has been raging about random rated being random for days now. I don’t think they are having fun. That is the reason I suggested more casual pvp fun…
That’s to be expected in a solo queue.
I agree solo blitz made me hate the game. It’s full of flavor of the month players, AI bots, and win traders. I’m just done with wow pvp
I’ll never understand this thinking.
“This optional piece of pvp content made me hate the game, so I am quitting pvp entirely.”
If you don’t like it, it’s fine to criticize it. And certainly you can make your feelings known that you are disappointed in the lack of development time spent on pvp. But if a new piece of optional content somehow makes you hate the entire game then your concerns were probably not with said piece of optional content at all.
Please be honest and explain why you hate the game or are done with pvp instead of blaming optional content you do not have to do.
But it’s not solo que. If they wanted solo que it should have been solo que. Like why would I go in there by myself knowing 2 groups of healed are queuing together.
I’d just do the same till the community in that que system crashes and people start avoiding queuing altogether which is essential what’s going to happen.
It’s funny that people complain about this then turn around and complain about the queue times, without a hint of irony.
Casual dad mode needs to go away. BGB should be the only queueable casual dad mode. There is no difference between the players in each one. All equally pooptastic, while one makes you wait 20+min or more because reasons. CR and MMR are worthless, just make it like the HWL/GM grind. You get rewarded for your time, not some irrelevant number you can buy with RMT for color armor dye and a title everyone just accuses you of being bought or given for free with zero effort because battlegrounds herpa derpa.
