I’ve been a fan of blizzard since a child and playing the first Diablo and Starcraft on both my computer and N64. When I first got to play wow it was some time after the launch because my network was very slow where I lived. I was hooked on that game and enjoyed so many aspect of it from trading, skill trees, dungons, ect… ect…
The last few expansions I stopped playing because slowly they removed the things that made it so much fun in the first place.
Then with this new expansion I was excited to hear about the skill tree return and a couple other things so I decided to try it out.
Right away there was issues and bugs. It stopped feeling like a multiplayer game and felt more like a single player game with the occasional multiplayer tossed in. While the skill tree was fun it wasn’t fun playing a game that punishes it’s players so much for such silly/dumb things.
After encountering yet another bug that hinders my character’s progression that may or may never be fixed I decided that was the final one. I doubt I’ll ever come back to WoW since it’s no longer WoW.
I understand that me ranting will likely change nothing. I doubt anyone who has any kind of power to change things will even know this post existed. I suppose this is just a call to fellow gamers that know what I’m talking about. A call asking them to also protest. To not pay for something that is not a full/complete product. To not pay for something that isn’t fun. To hope that the company understands that a good game is far more important than a cash grab.
For me it’s been years since a launch of a blizzard game that I could really enjoy. Even past games they bugged out and even caused irreparable harm to me along with many many others. Hours/days/weeks of playtime and saves have been lost. The company refused to do anything about it siting their ToS agreement and such stating it’s their property and they don’t have/need to and wouldn’t even give a refund.
This is a shame on me… I have been fooled more than once by them. I can’t say for certain that I won’t be fooled again, however I will say that they no longer have the gamer’s best interests at heart and haven’t for a long while. The world of warcraft is dead to me and doubtful it could be revived.
(also just noticed this thread was posted by yet another zero post classic toon. Amazing how all the quit threads share this theme… I bet within the next hour, it’ll have about 50 …all from characters which haven’t been logged into for so long, that their names have numbers in them)
You probably just dont have that many friends in game anymore or they drive to make new friends, it happens.
Also while there are alt bugs old xpacs like tbc/wotlk had way more every single pre patch, patch day was mostly unplayable, take off your pink colored glasses
"“This rant was fully generated by ChatGPT. I did not write it, do not agree with any of it, and will not be quitting WoW. This thread is about AI bots in WoW and WoW forums.”
Pretty much sums it up well. You’ve traveled Azeroth from that first awe inspiring view of the salt flats, and then Ion actually improve flying. Who’d a thought…
Many years of good and bad have passed. Now the game has gone in a direction you can’t follow. Farewell fellow traveler, hope you find what you’re looking for. If not, don’t give away your gold.
