You’re gonna keep talking crap anyway, but here was my feedback to the devs:

Hey, thanks for making Phase 1 everything Classic+ should be. You provided an experience that maintained the feel and integrity of the Vanilla experience while delivering new engaging content and a fresh perspective.

Since P2 launch you’ve been trickling in things that undermine the foundation of Vanilla that the game has been built on, and are now going full blast with the “modern MMO” firehose.

I can appreciate that you’re trying to appeal to the widest demographic possible with these changes, and I think it’ll be successful, but its shifted too far away from why I call this version of the game home. From where I sit, if you’ve made a version of Vanilla in which the leveling experience is something that you are by design trying to help players get through as fast as possible, then you’ve lost sight of a huge part of what makes Vanilla such an excellent game.

Here’s hoping you and your team can get around to introducing an experience that honors and espouses the core values of Vanilla design sometime in the near future, so players like myself who enjoy actual Classic MMORPG gameplay can have a progressive Blizzard-provided server to play on.

In closing, what we’d really like to hear from you is feedback on what you want.

SoD has clearly diverged from Classic/Vanilla/whatever, so best of luck with that, but for any future Classic+ that could come out in the future, I’ll define what I think it should be:

Classic+ is new Eastern Kingdoms & Kalimdor content, including items, gear, encounters, events, leveling experiences, questlines and lore. It maintains Vanilla systems and design as-is.

New content, no changes.
