The Dawnbreaker

So I just queued up for my first heroic. Dawnbreaker dungeon, first time in there. Got some addon errors on joining so I disabled an addon and reloaded UI. By the time UI reloaded, my group had apparently already gotten on the boat and it was gone.

I had 0 idea where to go. Looked around for a couple minutes before asking group. They pinged the dock, which was confusing for me because nothing was there. I couldn’t mount up, which was more confusing. I asked group again, but just got kicked and got 30 min deserter. Cool. Guess 45 minutes of my 3 hours I can play after work is eaten up due to this garbage dungeon.

I’ve been doing each dungeon on follower mode as I encounter them. Makes it pretty stress-free to learn them, and the NPCs even use location pings at times to guide you!

Did it last nigh cuz I had a quest for it
You are supposed to use your dragon riding mount and hop ship to ship.
The boss has a death bubble that you fly out of and fly around till she chills out then go back

My time with it was a mess and the city part maybe a sneaking rogues dream cuz mobs are fu to 11

My only reel beef with this dungeon is the 2nd part where you fly down into the city and its an absolute mess of mob density and patrols with the group trying to land in the same spot with skyriding.

I realize this is no big deal for guild/friend groups who are on the same page, but it will be a pug nighmare.

The other bits are just things where once you know what to do its not an issue. I’m sure druids can be okay using a mount for one dungeon.

I have no issues with getting lost, but the 2nd part a lot of the enemies tend to be clumped together and the chances of pulling other groups is high. The 3rd boss can be hell too since he throws out a lot of poison and people tend to mess up the wave mechanic not knowing you’re suppose to move it so it doesn’t hit anyone. And most of the time people don’t know that and you end up giving the healer a heart attack. This is definitely gonna be a pug killer when M+ comes.

I love this dungeon! The only thing it needs is something to direct you to the final spot in last phase of last boss.

It didn’t take me and my husband more than one death each non- easy situation to figure out what to do and we just used the adventure guide.

It’s not that hard.

Just quit trying to dungeon while drunk.

Or maybe you’re just dense, idk.

I mean that does sound like a bug, but I feel like an easy way to avoid that is to just transform before you jump off and make sure you’re a bird and not a cheetah.

After doing it once you’re good tho…

Not a big deal to mount up as a druid. First run on my alt, I fell off. So what you can’t be special and go flight form. The key is that you make it out of the void blast thingy and not fall off the ship.

This is most though. Lmao

Then when you try to help them with simple steps they get upset and call me a shill.

It still puts you in ground form. At least as of the official launch day. Haven’t run it on H with my Drood after reset.

Didn’t realize you had to kill the marked adds to weaken the second boss. I’ve just been going straight from the first boss to the second boss. I would’ve realized sooner but every PUG I did it with had no issues at all.

I guess that’ll change when Mythic arrives.

It puts you in ground travel form because you’re in combat. It’s just the age old mechanic. You have to use a mount like every other class.

I agree with this.

I agree. I think this dungeon is really neat and I love the combat flight mechanics. But it’s definitely lacking guidance. Was surprised to see no marks on the map or anything to help.

When I saw that I was like… why is everyone talking about item from way back when…

does it make u moofurious

No but that isn’t a bad warrior name. I’ll have to remember it.

Luckily bear doesn’t have any BiS items coming from there so I only have to run it once. My list of problems now include falling through the boat, spells hitting far beyond their indicator, having the winds that make flying unintuitive, requiring at least 1 ranged dps to bait the pools, adding a knock back on a boss in a very tight area and more.

Its a combination of bad indicators, bugs, gimmicky fights, and tons of travel for no reason. Because of all of that I don’t think I’ll ever like it and it’ll be considered one of my least favorite of all time (right now sits in the top 5 worst dungeons easily.) Tuning might make it the easiest dungeon (I think they will go with that) but it will never be a good dungeon.
