BM was good for 1 week and got nerfed into the dirt. Another fun season to look forward to. Great job Blizz.
Is that you ragemode???
I’m curious what do you think that data represents?
I think it’s still too early to jump to conclusions, we have to wait for all players to have the 4 pieces of the tier set and BIS trinkets to be sure.
Survival game and so far we’ve done 7/9 (normal) and 3/9 (heroic). So far I have ranked first in guild DPS on most bosses.
Either I’m really good with the class (which I don’t believe lol).
Or the rest of the players are not knowing how to extract more dps from their classes
Or maybe Survival isn’t so bad after all.
I’ve done 2 M+ so far, so I don’t have more concrete feedback to pass on, but the ones I did also ranked first in DPS.
I still have my tier bonus from last season.
Sorry if the text was confusing, my English is not the best.
I’ve done about 20 11+s keys all the way to 16 and I get destroyed by most classes, I mean by like 20-30k dps dif
Ret, Sp is ridiculous, so is a good rog or dk
Yeah, struggling to keep up, especially against a Ret. Boss damage is pretty good, usually ahead but just get blown away in overall/trash damage.
The problem with that is that some specs get a huge boost from the 4 set. Bm does not.
ah but you dont want 4 piece. Unless you have 4 set mythic ilvl tier, you want 2 piece last tier and 2 piece this tier…
Hunter is fairly decent in raids atm because our single target is good. MM being decently high, and SV/BM still around the low-mid range. Which typically means in lower end raiding you just pushing harder will probably make you on top on the meters.
The biggest issue is BM/SV fall incredibly short in AoE especially in burst scenarios. Once we lose the Onyx Annulet it’s going to get a lot worse too.
Good news, buffs inc on reset:
Beast Mastery Abberus (4) Set bonus cooldown reduction for Bestial Wrath increased to 2 seconds (was 1 seconds). Kill Cleave now strikes nearby enemies for 80% of the damage (was 60%). Beast Cleave now causes your pet to strike nearby targets for 40/80% of the damage (was 35/75%).
Upcoming buffs are a disaster in my opinion.
Increasing cooldown reduction from 1sec to 2sec is going to get rolled back. Doubling it will make so Bestial Wrath is up more often than not. It’s more of a buff than I think Blizzard realizes, so I doubt it lasts long.
Buffing Kill Cleave and Beast Cleave is great, but doesn’t fix the primary issue with AoE. Just increase the cleave window already. 8 seconds is too short considering our Cleave window is triggered by the abomination that is Multi-Shot. That or greatly increase the damage of Multi-Shot, so it’s not an expensive trigger.
- Beast cleave should be 10secs
- While Beastial Wrath is active, pets have cleave and we get a 3stack of frenzy, this would give us some burst.
- Reduce the focus cost of Multi shot to 20 focus.
You really want to fix aoe, let cleave crit, then we would be fine.
Good.
I mean I hate it for other hunters, but it has ALWAYS been my least favorite spec due to pet AI issues. Survival has the problems too but … eh
Having the new 4 piece means you dont have the s1 tier which was very powerful. Having a slightly better uptime on BW is hardly impactful. Just slightly better than having to run two season1 and two season 2 tier.
This is actually the first time i remember where blizz got things right. We will be mid on aoe and mid on single target. So its a great win
This is a clear, unambiguous buff with zero downside whatsoever. Can we at least appreciate that a little? Calling these buffs a disaster is ludicrous.
It will have a huge impact in PvP, but won’t really change our ranking in PvE. The PvP effect itself will likely result in the buff being reverted because I’m not sure they can have it be 2 sec in PvE and 1 sec on PvP. I might be wrong, but I’m expecting a rollback.
BM is currently bottom three in both ST and AoE. Both specs below us are getting significant buffs. I call them a disaster because they don’t adequately address the spec’s shortcomings - in addition to the PvP aspect I mentioned above.
Our AoE buff IS a significant buff - 33% more damage on Kill Cleave is a lot. I’m not saying we don’t need more, but calling an unambiguous buff a disaster is really silly. After our post-bow-nerf buffs got walked back, we should take this buff with both arms open. Besides, Blizz rarely ever buffs a class to where it needs to be on the first try…it’s almost always an incremental game. Be happy with what we’re getting, and hope that there’s more to come. I don’t see how trashing these buffs is anything but counterproductive.
It’s a disaster, because it creates problems. It’s not enough for PvE and too much for PvP. Right now, BM and Frost DK are off a cliff at the bottom. Frost DKs are getting meaningful buffs that address their issues. BM is getting a 4pc buff, that I still think will be reverted, and AoE buffs.
AoE buffs are welcome, but Blizzard has been pushing this narrative that BM is a single target spec, yet we are currently second worst ST in the game. The worst spec (FDK) is getting buffed, which will put BM at the bottom.
If the 4pc buff isn’t reverted, then I suspect BM will still be dead last in PvE, but it will close the gap a little. At the very best, it’s lazy tuning. At worst, it’s a disaster. But that’s just my opinion.
Also, it’s not counter-productive to give feedback in a forum designed for just that.
It’s counter-productive to be overly negative instead of constructive. We need more buffs - fine, I agree. But these are buffs…from some on here you’d think we’re getting nerfed.
I really must be living in my own bubble, but I have been doing just fine in both M+ and raiding so far. I am usually a close second or first in DPS in every single run I’m in (almost never last, except in bad instances for us like VP which thankfully are few this season), and this is often running with FOTM meta specs. You can say small sample size, but my experience over this season - and last - has not in any way shape or form mirrored what people say about the spec on these forums. I feel quite confident that with the AoE buff I’m going to be wrecking keys next week.
At the end of the day I don’t listen to some nonsense tier list that a YouTuber talking head puts out to make money…I play my class to the best of my ability, and it’s worked out well so far. Am I running the very highest-level keys? No. But I’m doing content that already only a very small percentage of the player base does, and in that content I do just fine. There is plenty of room to make us better, but I don’t feel like I’m playing some super-gimped class.
I think we have fundamentally different ideas of good and bad buffs. While performance compared to other specs is important, it’s not my primary concern. Despite Blizzard’s shortcomings, the difference between the top and bottom DPS isn’t that great, so numbers balancing is mostly okay.
My issue is the sheer number of bugged talents, poorly designed abilities, clashing synergies, etc. Druids got a rework. Paladins got a rework. Mages are getting a rework. Hunters are still sitting on horrible designs that were clearly created by someone that doesn’t play a Hunter.
- MM is still an odd, reactionary spec that kinda forgets it’s supposed to be a Ranger of sorts.
- BM shifted way too much damage into pets, rather than the 50/50 that worked for years.
- SV is just a mess from top to bottom.
So yeah. IN MY OPINION, these buffs are a disaster because they don’t adequately address any of the issues with the spec. Am I being negative? Maybe. Mostly just disappointed.
