do you think they’ll ever do anything like make a dark ranger spec? or maybe a few talents that make you a Dark Ranger type? I think it would be pretty cool and I know a lot of ppl have requested a dark ranger style class but I think it makes more sense to just add on to the current hunter and just do something in the talents or do something like just add a whole new spec to hunter for it. I think shadowlands would be the perfect opportunity for them to add this in. how do we make this happen? especially since MM is terrible right now they could just add on to it with this idea. that’s my vote. anyone have other suggestions or thoughts on it

Higher chance to make a ranger class and make dark ranger one of the specs. It is thematically too diffetent from hunters
I’m pretty sure all Dark Rangers are undead. Like DK undead, not the race.
Not sure how that would work as a spec instead of a class.
Sylvanas shown any race can be raised, so there must be some dead hunters that can be brought back then with some training learn to be Dark Rangers.
Then RSV can come back as apart of that since it is a dead spec now.
That’s not the issue. Dark Rangers are tied to undeath. Your character would have to be undead. That’s fine for a Dark Ranger class.
The problem is with Dark Ranger as a spec within a class.
Basically with the proper training, anyone could become a Ranger, but only undead can be Dark Rangers.

It’s not just a playstyle for us to opt into.
The whole fantasy behind Dark Rangers is how they become what they are.
Take that away and you would only have a type of ranger with some niche, non-fitting abilities to use.
What if you did a quest line as a hunter to unlock the dark ranger spec and it works like shadowpriest where u hit a button to look all voidy or dark

Ofc it’s possible but, I would not opt for a solution such as this.
Better look at what Dark Rangers could be as a Hero Class or something.

I think it should be a whole new class. Dark Ranger, Necromancer and fully undead bcuz of lore but have every race that can play it have a skin akin to DK’s

This is why Hunters are so screwed up now. They tried to create a Ranger by adding Lone Wolf to MM. Then they tried to create a melee class by taking away RSV. These should have been new classes. Now there is a push to make Hunters into tanks? For all that is holy: PLEASE STOP TRYING TO CRAM 6 PLAY STYLES INTO 3 SPECS!
They have crammed too much into the hunter class, and they lost track of what a Hunter was supposed to be.
That said, I would LOVE FOR THEM TO MAKE A DARK RANGER class. It can have Lone Wolf. It can have MSV (or even RSV if the don’t want to revert MSV in the Hunter Class). It can have the Tank people have been crying for. This would be a welcome addition to the game for me.
My biggest concern about this is that they might want to prune abilities from Hunters and give them to the new class instead of creating unique abilities. They have an unsettling history of doing this, but a new ranged physical DPS class (or spec in a new class) would be worthwhile if they didn’t repeat that nasty mistake.

As long as they don’t bring back the RSV dumpster fire, I’m all for a Dark Ranger.
