In an attempt to understand Plunderstorm a bit more, I’d like to ask some questions of those who are fairly good at the mode, if you guys don’t mind?
When I’m fighting someone, it feels like my attacks do absolutely nothing, but theirs take a chunk of my health. Why? Is there positional awareness or something/am I missing something critical?
Restoring health. People top themselves off to full almost all the time, even when I’m actively smacking them, but I can’t do the same even when I use abilities to put distance between myself and them. Is there a trick I’m not understanding?
What are you doing to level so ridiculously fast?
I’m genuinely asking, this is not me trying to be sarcastic at all. I may not enjoy the pvp aspect of the mode, but if I’m gonna do it, I’d like to try and understand it better. :3
the higher lvl ingame you are the more health and dmg your abilities do therefore any one higher lvl than you is harder to kill , also you need to kill npc enemies / loot chests to try upgrade your quality of spells and then they do alot more dmg
restoring health is wonky, in the few games i played i noticed sometimes it would stop them drinking when hitting them sometimes it wouldnt. also need to make sure not to press any other spell / ability or it cancels your drink
land in high mob density areas / areas with alot of rare npcs
I’m the same way, just don’t worry about it. Drop and kill as many npcs as possible and loot the gold. When someone comes up just die and re que. idk what else to do
First, their level compared to yours. The higher your level, the more HP you have and the more damage you do. So if they are a higher level it will seem like they are taking very little damage while you will be taking a lot.
Second, each ability has multiple qualities. If you are using a white-quality ability, it’s not going to do a lot of damage compared to a purple quality.
Third, yes, positioning matters because many of the abilities are directional and can be dodged or avoided.
Fourth, make sure you are using your abilities correctly. Some require multiple button presses to do full damage. For example, the paladin shield requires one use to throw it, but if you hit the button a second time before it returns, it explodes, doing AOE damage.
There is no trick, just keep your health high and drink when you have a chance.
Crash lands on mobs and/or elites and then go on a mob killing spree. If you land in the right spot, you’ll instantly get to level 2 and then can easily get to level 3 by killing more mobs and opening chests.
The funny thing about this is that the level scaling seems bugged.
I can’t even count the amount of times when I’ve been higher level, with max rank spells, but they just deal NO DAMAGE on my opponent even though I’m on top of them. But when they use the same spells, I suddenly lose 90% of my health and have to flee. >.>
I just came from a match where I was lvl 10, with max lvl firestorm and mana sphere, and someone who was level 8 with the exact same offensive spells managed to kill me easily while I didn’t even make a dent in their health. And it’s not like I missed my spells either. My spells just didn’t do any damage to him, despite him not even wearing any shield (at least not a visible one).
I’ve pretty much given up on pvp completely, because I think it might be a sync issue.
If you are fighting others with pure R attacks, you likely will not win. Abilities rank up, and players rank up–all make a difference. Level makes a huge difference–do not attack a level 9 at level 5 unless you want to end the game
You’re missing the point. Person A hits person B for negligible damage then B hits A for a crapton. That’s not skill related. Pressing one button and having someone else press one button doesn’t require gladiator level ability.
