This post is to shed light on how stale the epic bg meta has become this quickly into the expansion. There is very little pvp in any epic bg right now aside from the opening fight in wintergrasp.
AV:
The current meta is to just turn 2 towers and zerg boss. I was in a group that killed Drek with 3 towers up. This bg has devolved to a foot race of who can run into the towers to turn them the fastest.
Suggestion: Buff the bosses hp and damage to make the “turn 2 and burn” strat more challenging. The tower/bunker captains in each base need to be immune to cc.
Ashran:
Most of these end in about 2 minutes. The current meta is a foot race to see who can zerg straight into the other base and kill the trem/vol. Each faction tries to have a couple to sacrifice themselves to slow down the enemy but as long as theres a geared tank and couple healers then it really doesnt matter.
Suggestion: buff the boss hp based on how far away from the current active node on the road is. Ie, if horde captures tremblade vanguard then the boss would then be weakened and could be killable. If horde pushed on and took the mage overwatch then tremblade would charge out of her keep as usual and also be further nerfed for an easier kill. This would promote actual fighting and taking of the nodes. Also buff the ogre hp and damage. He dies too fast. Another suggestion would be to severely nerf the fragment drops from the ogres at ring of conquest and buff the fragment drops at the other 4 corners of the map.
Isle of Conquest:
The hanger meta really needs to go. It’s too easy to take for alliance (I play both factions, chill) and then it’s too easy to defend with 8-10 people while the rest of your team suicide kills glaives and demos. Please add more guns to the hanger ship, reduce their damage to the walls slightly and drastically reduce their damage to players. When I play alliance, I can nuke horde players in places they shouldn’t be getting hit. Ideally you guys figure out how to fix the terrain to let horde and alliance approach the horde flag on equal footing. Move the hanger flag to a different location. Buff bomb damage to gates as well. They do almost nothing right now.
Wintergrasp:
The current meta hasn’t changed ever on this bg. Everyone just goes straight to sunken ring and duke it out. The loser has half their team leave and it turns into a snooze fest waiting it out.
Suggestion: Start the attackers out in 3 groups on all 3 bridges. Start the defenders out in two groups outside the keep on the southwest and southeast corners. All groups equally divided out. This would aim would be to provide an actual variance in the opening battles.
If my suggestions suck then at least do something besides allowing this to continue. I get it a lot of people want the free honor but this is a bit ridiculous. Epic bgs are anything but epic right now. There isn’t much difference between epic bgs and LFR in terms of gameplay as the meta currently exists.
