its a good tactic… I spent many hour sitting at AH back it 9.0 listing items for 1s and buying all the items people mindlessly threw up for the same price then sold for whatever the rate was, which was usually 20g+

Actually it is, The stock exchange has been automated for years. Gone are the days of the stock exchange floor being filled with traders it’s mostly empty now except for the occasional news crew. It’s all just bots and algorithms trading with each other.
you have people playing the ah times 10. whoever is controlling it is keeping that price set by buying anything cheaper and relisting as more. it is not bots. are there bots? sure. are they the main source of the problem? no. people will buy up thousands of an item to relist at a set price they want. and they will do that for days depending on their motivation and their gold count.
I’m sorry you’re offended that I asked if there are tactics people use in a digital market that can’t be used in a real life market.
Much like the way socialism encourages the power hungry to abuse that system.

One way to know this thing is rigged, whether it be from bots, bugs, or masses of people not competing and magically running the same scam at the same price, is there is a guaranteed way to make money speculating in this commodity.
Go buy some desolate leather. Enter the amount you want 50, 100, 1000, and then keep hitting refresh. As soon as the first listing has more than the amount you entered, try and buy it. If your quick enough the sale goes through and you get it that price. If not the sale doesn’t go through. And if you got it then sell it at 2.38. it will be sold within a minute usually.
Now of course if you’re doing it manually this doesn’t make money very quickly and will probably give you carpel, but if you could be very quick about typing in the right amount instead of having to wait for someone to sell a block larger than what you preset, and you could keep this up for couple days straight, and you never had to go to bathroom or had to take a break, you would probably be making gold hand over fist.
If only there were tools to automate this.
