Amen brother!
I have the kid next door play for me. 6 to 7 hours a day. He records it and I watch it at night when i get home from work. It’s like oh! I leveled twice today! Awesome, Timothy!

This is worst argument ever. Absolutely no one has any advantage as all addons are openly available to everyone. If one feels they are at a disadvantage then install the app. To prevent another person from using it just because they do not want to install addon is just wrong. As someone who has great difficulty typing quickly I am at a severe disadvantage without it. All the addon does in level the playing field.
Honestly, I hate the idea. I’m actively ignoring players who auto whisper like that at this point. People will hate my response, but I do not care. If you want the crafting system to be social, get rid of bots/addons. I won’t be giving players gold because they are cheesing the system, even if it’s allowed. I will wait for as long as I need to find a crafter who isn’t doing it
I hate knowing so many crafters have given up because of the addons and stuff
THIS. OMG THIS. Why can’t you assign a minimum quality in public orders?
I can usually think of a reason why the devs make their choices, even if I disagree. The posts here on this topic make zero sense – no one is saying to get rid of private orders. Just to specify a min quality on public orders. In this case, I cannot understand the thinking AT ALL. If anyone has a theory I am ready to be edjumacated.
The ‘theory’ is simple. If you can set minimum quality for public orders, there’s no reason for private orders to exist. That setting exists as encouragement to find a specific crafter instead of using the public system.
Probably for the same reason they refused to put the modern Group Finder app in Classic. Blizzard probably thinks it’s engaging to stare at chat for this stuff like it’s EQ in 1999
Yeah Blizzard should recognize it’s unhealthy to incentivize rackets in the game and change this. Crafting is too powerful to revolve around finding specific crafters
I’m fortunate that I have the time to level crafters that can make my seasonal bis. Because addons like this, the people that make them, and the people that use them make me want to uninstall the game.
I mean, maybe there are a few reasons to have private orders:
To me the question is more, “why do public orders exist in their current form”? You’d be a fool to create a public order on any item with variable quality, not knowing what you’ll get. My empty Public Order tabs seem to bear that out, but shrug.
It seems some still don’t quite get it, if one can set the minimum quality of crafting orders, without another counter, like material quality, being used to lock options there are those that will post orders with cheap materials yet max quality set. This might not be much of an issue at this point, when more people have their professions maxed out, but at the start? good luck, and even now there are some thigns that can not be done at max rank with low quality mats, more so if you are going full tilt embellised and gilded crest.
I can get not wanting to do personal orders, but there is a little thing called GUILD orders you can use as well, not public so you can set the quality, but also not personal so you don’t have to sped time hunting for a crafter, and if no one in your guild can crafr the rank you want now? think how hard it might be if they could not use some public orders to skill up.
CraftScan is the reason I actually do professions, it’s awesome though I really wish people didn’t just take the first bot that whispers them and me getting to the button in 1 second is to slow.
