The constant wow maintenance is ridiculous

Get on yesterday weekly downtime (the only game I have ever played that does this on the regular but I’m used to it now) go to work and come back home log on… Area 52 servers are down. Oh well guess I can’t play wow today wake up today go on wow servers down. This is absolutely ridiculous for modern gaming in general and especially for a company of this size even though this is the only game that I can think of right now with a required subscription plus box cost for expansions a cash shop full of microtransaction, boosts and the option to buy gold. all this cash flow and all these years and they are still incapable of having regularly working servers

So are these 8000 posts a day about it when you could contribute to the countless threads of same subject.

There is a lengthy post about Area 52.

And microtransactions??? The ones here are pitiful compared to the moblie gotcha games.

$20 will buy you a share of BITO which currently has a monthly dividend of $1.20
Say you’ve spent $3,000 on WoW over the year and gotten nothing but pixels and disappointment, may I suggest redirecting your funds?

The OP was very clear what this thread was about…you didnt need to come here if it bothers you.

lmao anyone upset with WoW’s microtransactions should try SWTOR for a while, ESPECIALLY as a free or prefered account.

WoW’s microtransactions are astonishingly minimal compared to most other MMO’s.

Even Destiny 2 is bad in this regard.

Another useless thread complaining about maintenance

Crazy that we have to compare it to a mobile gotcha game to make it seem like its a great montization system. At least in gotcha games the game itself is free they usually give out the paid currency for free and they are single player games so you don’t really need those legendries for 90% of content.

Another tone-deaf post about someone complaining about maintenance.

I literally have dozens of posts about how everything is revolved around, tuned and designed for the World First Race and other esports (MDI/Rated Arena).

So, for the sake of less than 5% of the player base, 95% of the rest get constantly inconvenienced, buffed, nerfed, etc… due to that and that alone. The frequent tuning adjustments for WF race during these weeks is a prime example of that.

Solution is to detach the esports players to their own Championship/Tournament server so that it does not affect the economy or tuning for everyone else.

Despite me continuing to call out the problem, offer a solution and rail against this “class warfare” by the Devs… there is little support or demand for this needed change.

In other words, you refuse to oppose the very thing that oppresses you… don’t bother complaining unless you are willing to take a stand against the truth of what is going on.

esports is a literal cancer to this game and has been for over a decade now.

You are correct there are so many tone-deaf posts about maintenance, it is out of control.

if maintenance is a problem, then it leads one to suspect that the complainer has zero real life and plays wow all day every day and is so addicted that 2 hours downtime is “devastating”.

NOT INSULTING intentionally - but it does lead one to suspect if this is such a big deal, you don’t have enough “adulting” to do friend, and should look into this.

Why would you assume this. What if the person works a night schedule and can only play mornings/afternoon. The recent maintenances have made Tuesdays unplayable for them. I don’t see why anyone would be upset if they had no life and could play wow whenever they wanted.

Wait there’s stuff to do outside of WoW? Are you implying I should do household chores, grocery shop, exercise, socialize, and engage in personal hygiene??

then let OP answer this and see if you or I are correct, you may be right…

How is it possible people still get surprised about maintenance? It’s truly a mystery beyond comprehension.

The game is up and playable around 720 hours a month and downtime averages around 8 hours a month, sometimes more sometimes less. Regardless of when Blizz does maintenance someone is going to be inconvenienced. It’s absolutely wild to read these posts. It leads one to wonder if people complain that they can’t use their car when it needs an oil change or have no plates and forks because they are in the dishwasher, or do not have food until they grocery shop. If losing a couple hours of playtime is so detrimental to you that it somehow ruins your enjoyment of the game and you feel the need to complain then you need to take a deep breath, step back, and look at yourself and your choices in life.

But…but…some accountant found out it can save the company x amount of money the more you do it…

I’m been extremely vocal about the long maintenances as of late. I only play the game in the morning early afternoons. Then I work and do things with my fiancée at night. I live on the East Coast so the game goes down at 10 am for me and sometimes doesn’t come back up until late afternoon.

I’m a paying customer just like everyone else. As I’ve said before the only people who don’t notice the down time are those with typical 8-5 jobs and are working during maintenance and log in at night. But they feel as though they should put their 2 cents to defend Blizzard because it doesn’t effect them at all.
