The Cloak Will Disappear Completely Upon Shadowlands Release

For new characters…

When you hit 98 you can start Legion and get your artifact weapon. When you hit 110, you can get your Heart of Azeroth in BfA. You can’t get your cloak until you’re 120, but why do that when you can get exp and a new cloak in Shadowlands?

The cloak quests and visions will be about as popular as MoP scenarios were after WoD came out.

I don’t understand the point of this post. You want to be able to earn the cloak in SL on alts? Why so?

So you mean it’ll be kinda like the MoP cloak and the WoD ring? Who cares?

It could disappear tomorrow and I would not miss it.

Will the cloak and visions even be staying once Shadowlands hits? I assumed Blizzard was just going to do away with the whole N’zoth scenario once Shadowlands was out.

We don’t know.

I just see it as a huge waste of available quest options. Maybe they should allow pursuit of the cloak starting at level 115 once SL is released…yeah I know there will be a level squish, but you know what I mean.

Well will the cloak have a purpose beyond the visions? I assume the visions will leave upon shadowlands’ launch. Or am I wrong and there is info saying the will stay?

I’d say look at it from the other direction. There’s nothing saying they are going away unlike the mage tower in Legion and the Brutosaur now.

But we can pray they do.

I care because it removes a good chunk of the expansions story. Be it good or terrible I don’t think Blizzard should remove content (only exception is challenge mode content like challenge dungeons and Mage Towers).

lol. You can just keep ignoring them.

N’Zoth. People will need it if they want to solo Ny’alotha for transmog.

Unless they don’t want people to access it like Oros in Timeless Isle…

Even when they made a Blue Post saying they would add a way to kill him later on without the cloak… that being the black market AH and not killing him…

That’s a good point. So I imagine they will have to leave the quest chain and supporting mechanics in place? For new players?

There’s also the mounts, achievements, and the backpack tied to visions.

Well it is at max level in BFA, which would be level 50 in SLs. If you wanted to stick around BFA to grind it out instead of just going to SL and earning better gear.

It’s not being removed so far as we know. You can still quest and get it. But the cloak isn’t carrying over into Shadowlands anyways, it’s legacy content just like all past legendaries. Either way it would never be used in the new expansion.

New players or just people who want to run it on a future alt.

End of the day, though, could you really see them turning an Expansion End Boss into a “well, you HAD to be there” feature like Oros or the Mage Tower?

Either the cloak will remain, or the necessity for it will be removed.

That was my thinking for the visions and assaults but I hadn’t considered that you need the cloak to fight the end boss.
