And when its a cloth spell caster npc. What…four times in a row? Extra credit taken in the NPC tank class school I guess.

It’s not though.

My theory is that every mob gains 100 defense, parry, and dodge chance after hitting 10% hp.

sometimes wild animals block.

The secret sauce to leveling as melee is to only fight green mobs and do green quests. It may be less exp per mob. But you go through them so much faster and with less downtime.

And way less annoying dodge, miss, block, parry and resist.

Also less getting your face crit for 30% of your total HP by a Orange level mob.

Yup. Monster’s defensive profile, and yours in return is based on level difference. A monster that is 3 levels higher than you is a raid boss in terms of defensive stats. Literally. Raid bosses are counted as level 63.

To hit mob 3 levels higher than you consistently you need 9% hit and some weapon skill to reduce glances. Goodluck with that.

Conversely, if you’re higher level than a mob. They hit you less often and for less damage. Just kill green mobs and do green quests. Its soooo much better.

Or the ones with instant cast spells that also chunk 30% of your hp

flashbacks to some godforsaken cave in Felwood

OHH I know where you are talking… Some mobs are just straight brutal, like the demons in the tainted scar, they smash you to bits if you arent careful.

And yet, it is.

Haha its WoW. What are we expecting here?

You need to stop level boosting and focus more on getting some gear.

Leveling in classic: grind mobs for 150 hours or buy boosts

Leveling in retail: able to dungeons constantly because of lfg

Hit yellow mobs, not orange.

This isn’t retail where you are a god killing mortals.

You forgot resist

Yet here you are.

I prefer this model every day to Retail’s approach.

-“Level 1 adventurer, you are the chosen one!”
-Scripted event where you “save” a high-ranking/decorated person from a threat which should be a mere nuisance to them
-Scripted event where you have an audience with your faction leader, they tell you how totally kickass you are and assure you the entire race would have been doomed were it not for your intervention alone (whilst a dozen other people clamber over you to have the same conversation)
-Scripted vehicle section where you kill 100+ dangerous enemies with impunity in the blink of an eye
-Congratulations! You are now level 5!

Wake up. You’re level one.
And orc looks at you and covers his face with his palm, exhaling a sigh.
He hands you a club.
“Be useful and hit some peons with this stick for me. Also some apples.”
You are now almost level two.
