Did it never go away and only some new how to use it?

Since vanilla wow. It’s been a thing since then and was only truly figured out in cata when rdruids used it to not override their hots to save mana.
Is this evidence the game has become too complicated?

Yep, they all use custom script macro’s and have been for years. And for some reason every time some game breaking thing gets posted on the forums, theirs a venruki video acting like a saint and reacting… meanwhile this guy was a huge part of RMT gladiator sells/carry’s along with cdew/snutz/reck/pika etc… all of them have been cheating the system for years and blizzard does nothing but promotes them even though have all have/had banned accounts in the past. They even admit it on stream lol
You think him showing that 1 button sub rouge macro at the end of the video was him being funny? lol they use stuff like that daily for years and game the system, now they act innocent.

I’m with this idea.
If I have held my wings, or trinket or bubble, or I’ve I have USED them…it is MY business to know, and yours to find out in pvp combat. The buff trackers and nameplate addons that tell you this has gone too far.
And as I saw in the other thread like this ppl being able to see where enemy players are traveling through nameplates across all of ashran is a gross overstep.

One thing worth mentioning is that the kick script became infinitely more valuable with the addition of the precog pvp talent that became the precog embellishment. It might have still been cheating to use before precog, but the cheating itself is a lot bigger deal since it is effectively negating a new and important game mechanic in addition to just not wasting or always landing your kicks and stuff.

Seeing how Autohotkey has been used since the oldschool days of Dark Age of Camelot and Ultima Online, I’d say it’s been going since day 1 of WoW PvP. Heck, it was probably used in PvE before that.
It’s only now becoming more prevalent because it’s easier to use and Blizzard is “indirectly” pushing us to use those things by not addressing the needless complexity of the current combat system.
I really don’t think that’s what people are trying to communicate. Rampant cheating impacts the integrity of the ladder. That isn’t the same thing as saying “I am not xyz rating because everyone but me is cheating”. It is an important topic. If it doesn’t get talked about, it just keeps happening and makes more people feel like they also need to cheat. I.e., if all of these other players are using this and not getting in trouble, why would I not? It is a problem that compounds on itself if it’s not fixed.
A valid metaphor would be the deflategate scandal in 2014 with the NE patriots. Them cheating is not what stopped the NY Jets or the TN Titans from making the playoffs, but it was still a really big deal. Mark McGuire using steroids did not prevent someone else who wasn’t on steroids from hitting more home runs than he did, but it is still important to not count his HR record.
Cheating affects everyone in a competitive ecosystem. When you don’t stop it and punish people, you entice more and more to do it until everyone feels like they have to cheat if they are going to win, and it’s not cheating if everyone is doing it, right?
Idk man, like you keep posting this reply to these comments and I don’t actually see anyone saying that cheating kept them from anything. It really feels like the kind of position that someone with a vested interest in downplaying it would take.

Really need to put a character limit on your replies, I’m not reading that novel you wrote. Especially when you tend to say alot of words to get a small point across.
Those are trash metaphors, a valid metaphor would be like saying I did not make it into college for football because I didn’t use PEDs. This game allows more then one person to collect achievements, not even a % in most cases, and the amount of players abusing these things are small enough it really doesn’t effect a single players ability to hit their desired achievements.
Tune into the stream and see what I’m doing, maybe you will learn when to turtle so you don’t get executed through it.

And you keep making the same kind of elitest comments to people who aren’t saying that it impacted their rating or achievements personally. A lot of people got caught in the botting banwave. This is less conspicuous than botting. If you are more aware of who is and is not using these scripts than everyone else, please enlighten us.
