The changes to Server names, and the problem that it causes

What is the “opt in flag?” I only knew of the requirement to be subbed to be able to login and reserve character names a couple weeks before launch.

Thanks!

Beta Opt in:

I played WoW since open beta. If someone put a gun to my mother’s head and demanded I tell them any of the servers I played on ever, nevermind the one I played on during vanilla, sadly my mother would be dead.

I highly doubt I am the only one. Never mind the millions and millions of people that left since Cataclysm that haven’t thought of WoW in years and coming back for classic.

15 years is a long time.

Honestly with a dumb thread title like this. I don’t even need to read it. To know it’s filled with useless drivel.

Ah, OK. Does that mean we need to opt in and have an active sub to be able to reserve character names prior to launch? I don’t have an active sub and probably won’t before then anyway. Thanks

I bounced through half a dozen servers in late TBC, early Wrath, looking for a new Raiding team. I can name every one of them as well as my original server and the one I settled on.

Thats just wonderful! I’m proud of you!

My wife can probably tell you what we both wore on our first date, and the date of it. But I certainly can’t. But I can you the name of the first Ninja movie I saw, and that i was seven when i saw it.

Its funny how memory works. Its like there isn’t a consensus on what people should memorize.

Facesofwow, but I entirely agree with op. This is probably the least cumbersome way to do it. Just put the old server name in parenthesis next to the new name. You are just changing the syntax
