The chance of a 9.3 patch

Get ready guys, there won’t be content for a very long time.

I’d take that bet :+1:

I’m sure there’s enough work put into 9.2 at this point that they can still push it out with what’s going on now and honestly I have no idea if what’s going on now is going to have that much of an effect on work. It seems like the kind of thing that happens and higher ups deal with it while select employees will be questioned and that’s it.

I’ve always been ready for this day Jorum :]

You’re in good spirits friend.

If this ship doesn’t sink altogether, I think a lot of employees will be given an “early retirement” package on the condition that they sign an NDA. And they will have to replace all (or most of) those people, which will be hard because few people are going to want Blizzard on their resume. Your 3-year expansion idea is realistic.

Honestly I would be shocked if “the ship sank” because let’s say Blizz is 100% guilty on all counts and everyone involved goes to jail right, let’s just say for sake of argument that is the exact outcome.
Players are still going to be here, the company isn’t going to say “We know you guys still want to give us millions of dollars a month but we just gotta close it up” That’s just never going to happen. SOMEONE will take over, fred from the mailroom who just started working there will be the new game director but I guarantee ActBlizz will still be capable of collecting wow player money.

It’s a civil case, no one is going to jail.

Some players will be here, sure. But people have been leaving due to the rise of other MMORPGs and games of other genres. People have been leaving due to general dissatisfaction with the game. People are growing up and WoW has little that could entertain this current generation.

I think the most likely scenario is WoW going F2P. I don’t think a complete shutdown is inevitable, but it’s possible. I think it’s also possible that many whales (people who spend tens of thousands per year on store items and services) will stay and those people alone will cover the server costs.

Idk I guess time will have to tell.

idk anything about legal proceedings

Last time I was in court was 2005/6 I think for a speeding ticket

Wow going f2p would be more of a death sentence than anything blizzard has done before it.

They have cut off both of WoW’s legs and one arm. It has lost many liters of blood. Will they keep cutting? Or will the court do it for them… as Kalemine said only time will tell.

wod would like a word

WoW is still making a huge amount of money.

You might not like it, but I’m loving SL so far. SoD has been an awesome raid for 9.1 to boot.

Sounds good, kid.

I think they’ll release what they’ve already made so far but where they’re at now, that may be delayed depending on how far everything goes.

Time will tell.

But for now, it’s best to focus on 9.1 first. That’s the rule.

Case like this will probably go on for a year or more, nothing will change in that time.
