This little dude is super buggy - you can be right on him, progress starts, then stops and says out of range. There’s interact lag with so many trying to grab him - and folks running all over the place making him clip into terrain or fall through the world.

I can’t even get that far. Once I zone into Pandaria, I get spammed with non-stop “You have no target” messages, and the torch won’t trigger at the grave.

I spent nearly 30 minutes trying to catch Gizmo before I gave up. Whomever at Blizzard thought this was fun should be disciplined. It is so buggy and there is no way to control random players running around making it impossible to catch Gizmo. THIS IS NOT FUN BLIZZARD!

Hopefully this gets addressed, I’m also giving up after half an hour trying different things to avoid the “out of range” bug.

Quick fix, turn on WM and go back - there’s almost no one else there. I did this and got the Racoon in about 30 seconds.

This has to be a bug So annoying I have stood still and let it come to me but as soon as you go to capture it he runs off again.
i am also having this exact same issue
when I get to pandaria the top of my screen says “you have no target” i get all the way to 60% on my Mystery solved bar. i have my torch on but all it does is glows around the torch. It will not interact with grave to summon gizmo

I’ve been having the same issues with so many people there. What I did was turn War-mode on. Then went to the closest rest area and turned WM off there. It phased me with nobody else there so i was easily able to get him.

Its time for blizzard to stop the garbage. Its laggy everywhere keys yesterday were total garbage. You look at your ping and its 30 ish but when you cast a spell it takes 2 seconds sometimes.
Thank you to those that gave the war mode tip, that worked for me.
Everyone already found out, War Mode no longer helps.
War Mode is now just a gankfest, so it’s up to Blizzard to fix it now.
This needs to be fixed ASAP.
This is either extremely bugged or stupidly designed or both. I can literally stand RIGHT NEXT to Gizmo and if no one in the crowd around me trying to do this quest for a limited time event moves at all and he remains still long enough for me to click on him, the cast bar gets at most halfway through the stupidly long cast before failing and telling me I’m “out of range”.
This is SO DAMN FRUSTRATING.

I logged in this morning. Gizmo was just sitting there in one spot. Caught him no problem. Maybe Blizzard has fixed this or I just got very lucky.
Ok guys I know what I did wrong and it finally worked. You have to read the notes that Riko gives first then speak to Riko then the undead lady Kiryn then read the notes again and speak to sully the pickle, that will get you to 60% of the progress then you can do the idol and torch to summon the racoon.
