The Case for Troll (Not More Elf Customization)

Hate to be that guy, but this is getting a bit silly now. Right now both male and female Darkspear Trolls have a grand total of six faces. Contrast that to humans that have over 30+ and Elves which have well over 15 different ones.

Next lets talk hair color. Blood Elves and Humans have far, far more than Trolls and that’s rather ironic, considering Trolls were the first to use the Pink hair styles and other ‘outlandish’ dyes.

Tusks? That’s a little better for men at the least, but the female models? (Oh sorry Body Type 2). Do not have much if anything going for them. There is no option like the Zandalari women for more prominent tusks. You only have 6 options once again. Compare that to other races and you’ll find Trolls are in dead last again.

Finally we come to the most obvious disparity. The face paint options. Ma–Sorry BODY TYPE 1, has easily 14-15 different options for the face. However while this probably was intended by the original developers to hide the same-face issue that plagues Trolls, the problem is that females. Ahem Body Type “2”, only got 3 options for the face. Those being “Voodoo” “Skull” and “Ritual”.

Body Type 2 needs to be given access to “Berserker”, “Fangs”, “Oni”, “Prophet” and “War”. Customizations. Additionally both Body Type 1 and Two Trolls need to have a lot more faces, and hairstyles added. Facial Hair would also be a plus for Body Type 1.

Also Darkspear Heritage Armor… when? Kinda is getting old and tired.

Probably when draenei get theirs, I’d guess in 10.2.5 or 10.2.7.

But yes more customizations for all races plz. Blood troll options when?!

We definitely have more faces (if you can call slight variation in lips that) but definitely not more overall customization options.

Well tbf, i don’t see blood trolls being a thing. Especially since we got a blood troll set on the tp. I think that was blizz’s compromise

The unfortunate reality is that Blizzard will prioritize what is popular, as most games do.

Why some characters in mobas have like 12 skins and others have 2.

This is true, but in the case of an MMO, you can argue adding more customization makes certain choices more appealing.

Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren got massive customization options in Shadowlands.

Meanwhile male blood elf customizations are limited to 1 tab.

Yeah Darkspear are gonna be last, maybe same time as Draenei, but who knows. I kind of feel the same for class customizations that while druids get tons of options fun stuff for the other classes would be nice as well. (See: Customize Shadowform effects)

Yep it is sad and we still have this annoying elf players asking for more every week in the forums

I hope it’s more than that because some of the hairstyles and such would be nice.

And that set doesn’t have this cape.

Also my major complaint about that set is the feet still don’t display right on trolls.

Tusks interaction with headpieces, better foot display, darkspear male spinal correction, face/hair/tattoo/tusk/jewelry options of all types… list gets long but they might need to set a whole team to these issues, which they may not do until they have the return of Voljin or other Darkspear plot.

Not getting the bangles and claws really tanked the hype for this set. There’s still the leather DH reskin shoes, and the bandages cover the seamline. It’s still just for one armor type, though.

Sadly its a thing the entire MMORPG has been stuck in for over 20 years. Its the narrow thinking that caused the genre to stagnate for so long.

Anyway on the topic of customisations there are other races far worse off then trolls right now.

Really think Humans should have more cusomisations, like tattoos, scars and camouflage facial paint.

All races need tattoos (both face and body), scars (both face and body), jewelry options, makeup options, facial hair, and such just to name a few.

Yeah, I retired my Shadow Priest because I got sick of the neglect. Meanwhile Mages have how many versions of Water Elemental and Druids get new forms every other patch. Gets old and irritating after a while.

Seems like your the only one with an actual hang up, and that is ‘precisely’ why it was written as it was.

I’m surprised of the lack of facial hair in Trolls. We have seen Black Spear Trolls with BEARDS since Warcraft 3 with Rokan, right now there is not a single representation of Vol’jin without his perfect troll beard, even the Elemental Shaman talent tree background introduced in Dragonflight has a Black Spear Troll with Beard on it.

So what is the excuse for don’t give some facial hair to a race with almost all official art by Blizzard constantly showing beards?

While we are at it, we have Sand Troll Skins but not their signature Black Tusks.
