The campaign was great, but disappointed/unfinished ending?

As a player who never reads quest text and such, I often only get the “story” through the in-game cinematics. This expansion did an absolutely AMAZING job throughout each zone of the campaign. Voiced cinematics, I really truly felt like I was getting the story this time. (I have no idea what the Dragonflight story really was due to lack of cinematics).

Anyways I finally hit renown 4 with all the reps so I was working on finishing off the campaign. And then abruptly without warning it seemed, all the voice acting just ended. One cut scene had absolutely 0 sound, and I was reading the text at the bottom. My first thought was that the cinematic was just broken, however I was quickly proven wrong. Since every scene from there on out, had absolutely no sound at all. Just text to read.

I immediately felt like I fell out of the story. I never longer felt involved with it. To the point I just wanted to hit esc and skip the scenes. You see people, hands moving and mouths moving like they’re talking while in total silence. Like a silent film with just closed caption on. It felt pretty awful. And disappointing.

I really want to know what was happening with the Stormriders and how we unlock the Earthen etc. But why did you do so good through all of the campaign and then fall short at the end? It felt like the expansion didn’t have time to be finished, it just felt rushed/incomplete at the end.

I hope going forward more cinematics stay voiced, these silent ones don’t do anything for me.

If you’re lucky.

This is 11.0.

We still have 11.0.5, 11.1, 11.1.5, 11.2, 11.2.5, and maybe even a couple X.X.7s in there for flavor.

Of course it’s unfinished.

I didn’t mean the “story” was over. I meant it felt unfinished like it was meant to/should have had voice for the cinematics but they didn’t have the time to complete it.

They are aware of the issue. The lack of sound was not intended from what I understand. Think I saw an article about it on wowhead already.

At least we know it’s a bug.

Their competitor ff14’s dawntrail just doesn’t have voiced dialogue in most of the new cutscenes, and even so, depending on how you feel about it, you wouldn’t want them anyway.

All the voice acting in TWW has been top notch, especially if you “stay awhile and listen” during quests.

Ah, I do not use WoWhead. I hope it’s a bug, I would gladly do it again on an alt to get the story with the sound.

The voice acting in this expansion is beyond horrible. It’s like they used some free text-to-speech app to create it.

For as awesome as the zone graphics and music are it’s quite jarring how bad the voice acting is. The spider queen is an exception. That voice acting was good.

of course it’s unfinished. The patch story doesn’t end until the raid is cleared (as usual) and TWW’s story goes until Midnight’s prepatch.

This has been how the campaign has worked for quite some time now.

It’s like people don’t pay attention to the patterns this game has followed mostly since Legion.

I love how people reply with comments like this, clearly showing they did not understand my post at all. Not at all what I am talking about. Obviously I know the story isn’t finished
