The Burning of Teldrassil was my favorite WoW moment

I didn’t care either way. I was over Sylvanas by Cata.

In this particular thread it seems to me, that you come off as a bit of a psychopath.

Come to think of it, so did Sylvanas.

I, too, hate night elves.

I feel like it was a cool, “wow…” moment but it’s really just sad to me.

It would have been a good moment if Sylvanas stuck to her beta reasons for starting the war instead of what we actually got. Trying to separate the factions by continent was actually pretty interesting

I don’t really hate Night Elves, but your effective use of commas makes me OK with burning them to the maw.

The big issue for me with this moment is they had a chance to capture this moment back in Cata / MoP with the destruction of Theramore.

The events leading us into BFA could have been so much more then what we got in the end. It seems the destruction of Alliance cities cries out for the player’s mind set then the destruction of a Horde capital city done by the Horde itself.

If they followed their original story plan and that Slyvanas wanted to create a land only for the Horde with no Alliance cities around, then the Burning would have been justified more so, however it was just burned (and I do think some players really think in what they type instead of role playing their faction in how they play the game) for “Need souls for my master”.

Also using the War Bringers cinematic that we had already seen prior to the Pre-Patch also spoiled the whole thing which makes the moment even less appealing as a player watching the scene.

The Burning of Teldrassil was the lowest point in Warcraft’s writing and led to the most terribly written xpacs I’ve ever had the displeasure of playing and reading. The Burning of Teldrassil should have happened but not in the way it did happen.

I don’t think Danuser is the best story teller - but to be fair, Afrasabi wanted to vilify and demonise Sylvanas to new heights as much as possible — despite the roaring protests against both fans and what has already been confirmed most of the Blizzard staff, even before it was written – So I’m kind of glad they’re ripping the rug from underneath that plot aim and yeeting it out the window.

No matter how hard I try, I can’t get worked up over a contrivance to justify consolidating starter zones.
