The Burning Crusade & #NoChanges

Game’s not making it that far.

Why shouldn’t they? I think most people who are playing classic would like to carry over their characters

No, it’s a logical fallacy. One change does NOT require a second.

It doesn’t matter what a random guy asks for because there was one change (i know there were more already). First, he’s not the decision maker, second, he was likely asking for other changes before that change was made anyway.

You’re posting from a position that Blizzard actually cares at all what the playerbase says.

Protip-they don’t.

Also, spare me the tribalistic “NUH UH THEY CHANGED AV FOR HORDE AND WPVP FOR ALLIANCE!”

Modern playstyles in a game with design that doesn’t support them and easily exploited by them makes for an unhealthy game.

The pvp system is absolutely indicative of that. I don’t even bother with it given how many cheaters there are and how many people somehow manage to pay for a sub while never working a day in their life giving them unlimited playtime.

Classic is incredibly popular. They will change things to keep your money here.

So I’m reading;

  1. Player created issue, can’t have that.
  2. Player created issue, can’t have that.
  3. Player created issue, can’t have that.

Dude, I don’t have to pug anymore. Join a guild and do guild runs, you remove pretty much your entire argument above with one social action. Ya know, MMO.

It’s almost like incentivizing certain behavior will produce certain behaviors.

Revolutionary concept, I know.

cause they’d rather have a million?

I know i certainly would like to xfer my char to TBC. i wouldnt have as much affinity for Classic as i would for TBC.

Yeah I think that’s the whole point of an expansion. Leveling 1-60 isn’t part of the TBC experience imo.

And the good news is, you’d have the option to keep playing classic! Its a win-win for most of the player base!

Lol. They aren’t mutually exclusive things.

Every aspect of TBC is better than vanilla. See? It’s subjective. Just like the whiny complainers now, it’s all subjective. Just because you think something is bad in TBC doesn’t mean everyone else does.

How many new payers would tbc bring in? That is the question.

Well, I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you like and what I like may not be the same and our likes are a Subjective matter, green is not better than Orange. Smae goes for dislikes, I dislike is not a dislike for all. But I am not the only one either and there are people who share likes and dislikes.

What is truly meant here is that the bad things of TBC are bad for me, yes, and not that they are bad for all. Of course. Yet, I play because of my likes not because of the likes of others. So of course I speak for myself primarily and some friends who share the same view and feelings towards Classic and TBC.

Simply put, I am back to play Classic, because it is not Retail, because it is not TBC.

And now you are asking me if I want TBC? No I do not want TBC it was not fun for me. I did not enjoy the path it took with some aspects which are Core aspects to my fun in Classic.

There is a nuance here. I am not saying TBC is not good. I am saying TBC is not good for me. And wanted or not this is equally important because in the end, I am also a consumer just like anyone else, I am also a player just like everyone else, I am also one who pays the sub. Nor you nor anyone else pays for ,y sub. Therefore I decide what I like and what I dislike and have equal right to express it.

And the logic that you advance can be applied to all too We can say

Just because you think TBC is fun it does not mean that it is to all.

We can also say, just because TBC Devs thought it is fun it does not mean that it was to all either.

The bottom line is this:

I cam back to play the Claasic Experience. TBC Changes the Classic Experience. Therefore I can only Accept TBC if it is tweaked to not change the Classic Experience.

If they make a small effort to Bring TBC in a TWeaked way more in line with Classic experience which this Crowd is here for, then ya lets Update to it!

From my part:

No Arenas, or at least if you want Arenas,(because I know some people like them), then have a system of Gear that is equal between Arena and BG PvP. You can access same gear in either, Like it is in Classic PvP gear though BG, of PvP, whether it is Arena or BG.

Second, no Resilience stats. Adjust Stats as needed if needed to offer more variety (of gearing and progression) to people like it is in Classic.

You can mix and Match in Classic, you can Bring your PVE earned Gear in to the Battleground in Classic as you can bring your PvP earned Gear in Raids. It works.

When TBC segregated all that, the Core experience of the Classic game changed. And it became unfun for many people.

For me, the rest were all Improvements and more Content which were fun. Flying Mounts were cool, New Lands were Cool, And expanded Talent Tree was Cool because it basically Kept the Classic Talent tree and added some abilities since we got a few more Talent points. Some skill additions were nice and needed too. Small Convenience additions were cool, Summoning stones etc.

I usually like to say keep it at lvl 60, but it would be too complex for Blizzard Devs at this point to rescale TBC for a lvl 60 Play, poor guys have no Budget nor time to do all that, so I will am willing to compromise here. Let the additional Levels come in provided that the above is Tweaked, to keep the Experience a continuation of Classic Experience…and not a Change of Classic Core experience.

Otherwise there is no reason to continue playing for all the people who came back to play Classic.

Well, if you want to have new Servers that Run TBC for you to re-roll in I do not see why not.

But I do not want my server to be patched with TBC as it was…this is what I am saying.

I would not like a Change to the Classic Experience. I can Accept TBC if it is Tweaked to Maintain the Classic Experience.

Your opinion is valid but your suggestions make no sense when it comes to what TBC actually was, if blizz were to implement your ideas the game would need a complete overhaul for example removing resilience as a stat would need every other gear piece needing changes. Blizz has no desire to put that kind of time into a simply re-release past some technology enhancements on their back end.

Luckily for you, you wouldnt be required to join the rest of us in TBC i’m 99% sure blizz will keep (or consolidate) some classic servers and that should suit your needs just fine.

Do you know this for a FAct? You work at Blizz? You speak for Blizz?

In the end, yes, I have no issue with TBC as long as there are Servers where I can continue Classic along with all others which want the same.

But there is an opportunity for Blizzard here, I think.

No i dont work for Blizz, but its been stated from various sources at blizz that the kind of time and money investment you’re suggesting is NOT something they have an interest in. You’re currently playing Classic which did NOTHING like what you’re asking, they simply upgraded backend hardware to play on current PCs and from all metrics has been a success! warts and all.

I can’t see any financial benefit in investing additional revenue into a piece of 13 year IP, where they can put that money into future projects.

Now this philosophy could change, but I find it highly unlikely shareholders would go along with it. Yes actiblizz is part of the big bad corporate machine and they do have to answer to shareholders whether we like it or not.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it seems like a lack of understanding when Blizzard says they are going to rerelease Vanilla or TBC. They don’t say they are going to revisit Vanilla and do all the changes or ideas they wish they could have the first time. It is going to be the game we played and the only changes will be forced by the technology requirements and to facilitate the amount of players.

The demands for changes, even if they are reasonable, are misplaced as they create a new game and not the one being rereleased. I know a lot of the changes have their base in a good positive place but they aren’t making new games.

I think Ion, or whomever, said it best. We will release these games, lumps and all.

If you don’t like the faults of these old games you have options. Don’t play, complain or play and try to enjoy.

This exactly! :point_up_2:

What TBC are you talking about? The first unpatched version where raid guilds were complaining of unavoidable instakill damage, need to farm dozens of consumables (a lot of them from Vanilla) and arduous attunements (first versions of Kael and Vashj dropped 2-3 attunement items per 25-man raid and don’t get me started on Heroic Shattered Halls) or the more balanced later patches?
