The Burning Crusade & #NoChanges

Well, the initial comment I reacted to told players to go play retail, so apparently the “too far point” is BFA.

But it doesn’t matter what the too far point is. The slippery slope argument is still a fallacy.

No. People have been arguing for massive changes all along. We didn’t get those changes. (in fact, we got changes basically nobody asked for lol)

None of those threads have any traction. They’re derailed troll-fests like the rest of the forum.

How ever layering is implemented, if its done to alleviate overpopulation in a concentrated area that may lead to crashes, queues or significantly downgraded gameplay i see no issue with that. Having a solution to a technical issue and simply not using because you fear backlash is asinine, especially if it will revert after a given time.

careful, the mods will silence you…

I agree, and in fact I suggest that they create a permanently layered server or two for each region (in addition to servers that never have layering).

If layering is used I hope it’s gone in less then a month.

I’ve been here since they first announced classic. I’ve never been silenced.

TBC will be 90% Horde on pvp servers, which means it’ll mostly be horde posting here and Blizz has proven they’ll listen to loud, constant Horde whining.

So yes, if there’s anything inconvenient for the Horde, Blizz will change it in TBC, guaranteed.

So, things that are only positive are negative… Is the sky green in your neck of the woods?

It bears repeating:

I suggest that blizzard provide both permanently layered and never layered servers in each region.

Some people care a lot about layering. Some people don’t. If layering can be turned on and off at will, it should be easy to accommodate both groups.

Note that the “permanently layered” server should have its layers adjusted from time to time. Eventually it’ll get down to 1 layer.

Except nothing you asked for is only positive. Except guild banks. Which I have no issue with.

I agree with this, personally.

However, I also suspect there would be just as many complaints (i.e. excuses for people to quit) regardless of how true to Vanilla things really were.

Overall, there are some things I would have preferred for Classic, but I’m happy (mostly) with what we got.

Dual spec is negative? It only has positive results. Faster more flexible play, more options for players, increases class understanding and skill, creates flexible raid compositions for raid leads and guild leaders to more robustly build their raid teams.

Achievements. Affects and effects NO ONE, other than the people running for the points, creates healthy competition with the nerd point thing. Toxic people will ask for your achieve, but this is almost exclusively done in pugs and wouldn’t affect players in guilds and that go through the learning process of being part of the server community. Ya know, you’re playing a MMO after all.

Trasmog; why in the world does how someone looks affect your game play. Again, pugs might roll on stuff, but that’s gonna be rare and again, easily avoidable if you run in guild groups.

Every negative item you’ve posted, again, can be avoided if you join a guild, and/or will not directly impact you in the slightest. They’re fun! Do you not like fun?

It removes a gold sink, and reduces spec identity somewhat since people can just pop back and forth.

I’m not saying it’s a net negative, but there are downsides.

There are fewer downsides to achievements. Basically some people will feel obligated to go get them. They can also be used to judge people, which has positive and negative effects.

Personally can’t bring myself to care if they include achievements or not.

Transmog lets you hide your power level by disguising yourself in different gear. It also lets you hide things like engineering items.

Not sure I care about transmog either TBH.

I’m getting some “Don’t you guys have phones?” vibes from this.

In all seriousness, a lot of the arguments against these things are flat out not game affecting. We’re not talking about something destructive and horrific like LFD or LFR. It’s really a negative Nancy thing.

While I don’t agree that all of your suggestions have huge impacts, some of them will effect the game substantially. Respeccing is really expensive in classic, and remains kinda pricy in TBC. Removing that gold sink can have serious effects on the game’s economy.

Believe me, I had thousands of gold in BC. Respecing was a time waster, not a gold sink and slowed down raiding.

It’s not a valid gold sink. Hell I’m on my way to epic flying and it’s classic… making gold has never been hard.

This is incorrect to the point of delusion.

If you’d temper your responses, you might have the shadow of a point, but you go so far off the deep end of hyperbole that I can’t take you seriously.

Also, if making gold isn’t hard, then leaving out dual spec isn’t a big issue.

<— beta player.

classic PvE is boring as F. too easy.

premade VS pug is dumb.

skill-based PvP > this honor system where bots/ unemployed basement dweller dominate.

the list goes on.

if you expect blizz to cater to the … what, 10-20k playerbase that kept hoping from Pserver to Pserver… you’re totally delusionnal.

#nochange will kill classic… they already crippled it with their moronic campaign against layers / shards.

While I think a lot of what you are posting is trolling I will throw my hat in. First your experience is not everyones so assuming everyone has gold like you do/did is wrong. Dual spec wasn’t in TBC and therefore shouldn’t be in any remastered versions of it. Yes Dual spec was great when it was released but the positive/negative doesn’t matter. It is too drastic of a change to the game to just throw it in. Difficulty/convenience matters and being able to switch specs mid instance wasn’t part of TBC.

NO changes. Look how retail turned out now. Leave it alone.
