The biggest thing I hated about retail WoW

The fact that I could grind and grind for hours to get the best gear and 2 weeks later that gear becomes obsolete and blizzard basically gives it out for free (unless you’re a mythic raider than maybe the gear will last 4 weeks). I just hated seeing all my hours of hard work go to waste so blizzard could give out free gear to appease to casuals.

I know this always happens to a certain extend but Legion and especially BfA have been the worst in this aspect.

Maybe, just maybe, the game isn’t about the gear, but what you use the gear for?

Look at my avatar, I have a solution for you.

You have base mythic dungeon gear, I don’t see what you’re referencing to as “all my hours of hard work”.

If you enjoyed gearing up and playing the game than it wasn’t a waste.

It is a video game.

None of the things you accomplished in it are real.

You will take none of this with you when you die.

… you mean rep doesn’t carry over?

The gear tredmill has existed since the dawn of MMOs. The tredmill in retail has just sped up over time. I’m of the mindset it should be slowed down but I like the fact we’ve had to earn new gear for the past 15 years.

I am sorry Laxxo; no, no it doesn’t.

I think a lot of the problems is that there are not “sets” to farm anymore. I don’t remember people having this issue as much when we had our gear sets.

I haven’t played for 7 months dude. Im playing classic rn.

My gear used to be near top tier until I realized how pointless my grinding was.

I think you’re right. For the record I miss sets so much. BFA has been terrible for many reasons and mogging is near the top of that list.

So why are you complaining? You’re complaining about a system in place that you aren’t even participating in.

You get to keep the experiences and memories forever. :sunglasses:

Ive participated in the system for years. It hasn’t changed

You also did nearly zero raiding this expansion and not many m+'s this system is in place for players like you, don’t understand why you’re against it.

It gives you the chance to catch up and join the rest of the players since you’ve been gone for 7 months.

In the end it was always about the friends we made along the way.

Doesn’t matter. The fact that the system stays the same does not matter. Ive experienced it in legion doing high mythic+ keys and non mythic raiding.

For example i remember having really good gear near the beginning of the expansion. Warfronts came out and all my gear became obsolete as players got the same or better gear from afking in warfronts.

M+ players still have the edge of Bethnic geared players.

M+ requires class knowledge and a good understanding of how the game works.

You’re rewarded by gear and experience.

Then go to Classic where gear progression doesn’t matter.

Seeing as each raid tier lasts 3-5 months, this 2 week/4 week thing is nonsense…

The gear is relevant for the raid tier it belongs to. Same as it’s been since practically forever.

…There is admittedly a larger gap between the tiers now though.
