The biggest problem of group composition

Is that the devs have normalized it such that people think it’s ok to have as few healers as possible in a raid

The notion that we only need 2 3chealers in heroic and mythic raids is utter nonsense

It has become the norm for healers to pump 95+ percent of heals into tanks and ignore everyone else because everyone does is expected to heal themselves

Healers say hey try to play a healer and see how hard it is to keep everyone up.

Ya I bet it is when there’s only 2 to 4 of you.

I’m sick of use defensive, use lock rocks, use pots, use your heals to keep yourself alive

How?

Lock rocks heal 25%.
So for me that’s 2.5 million

And yet, in raids, you get hit by lords knows what from all the baloney ae damage floating around that hits you multiple times for that much and more

I have a 1 million absorb, which is worthless

I have a 20% magic absorb, which gets eaten thru in less than a half second.

Oh and the kicker, I have a 4min CD full damage mitigation, except I can’t use vs ice stage in meg, ican’t use it vs rik reverb and his 1 shot charm, and a host of other things it’s useless against

My fol heals for 1.1 million
My wog about the same.

It’s too crazy to even try to keep yourself alive with the way that current damage is tuned

And yet, the devs do not give the tools needed for healers to do their job

Idibt give a do if a healer is parsing 2 million, when 1.9 of that is healing the tank and I’m getting his complementary 100k by chance, as he isn’t even tRfetting me

Then click on your name

It will tell you exactly who healed you and for how much.

For me, I’m usually dead last to 2nd to last at 20ish million, while the tank has 500 million.

When I look at who I’m getting healed from, you know who is my #1healer

Maybe it’s the raid group I’m with, dunno, but this is a diff group and it was the same last season.

The devs have cajaoled all of you into thinking it’s ok because they don’t give proper raid side, impactful heals to healers

The spread heals only hit a few people, and any heal worth healing with is reserved for tanks

When, why, and how did a healers job get shifted to anyone but the healers?

This is your problem.

The comps running only 2-3 healers know what the damage is and where it comes from and how to mitigate it, so less healing is needed

Fewer healers means more dps.
More dps means shorter fights
Shorter fights means less healing
Less healing means fewer healers
Repeat

In raids you can avoid most mexhanics, bilut the devs still have mandatory heavy damage going out raid wide because that how they designed it

And good players will mitigate a lot of it reducing the need of excess healers because the devs built classes to do so

I’m in 100% favor for the devs to take all heals away from every class and let the healers heal.

…what? This is like the opposite of reality. Unless the fight is specifically designed to wreck the tanks, they’re mostly self-sufficient.

No one is expecting dps in raids to actively have to heal themselves, except maybe on the rare occasion where the raid lead calls to stop dps and you have literally nothing else to do. If you don’t want to use defensives and consumables, however, well…that’s just as sign of a terrible player.

Well i can tell you dont play a healer in raids.

Most groups that shrink down to two heal are doing so because they’re out of progression and more are not needed. Its better for the group to clear faster with more dps than it is to have two or more extra healers dpsing. Also, those two healers arent spamming tanks, theyre doing maintenance on one tank and healing triage on the dps.

If this was keys i could almost see an argument against the defensive creep because theres a little more varience pull to pull and group to group; and the lack of support with no other healer or tank to cover any gaps in a spec’s personal kit, so dps can get left out if a defensive was used early or they were to far for an aoe, but not in raids.
Especially at this point where those 2 healer 15 dps groups are very much for parses.

Tanks are healing or mitigating themselves and it shows up on healing taken because thats how most tank kits work nowdays, most tanks live off of splash heals and maintenance hots like lifebloom with no where better to go. No ones tunneling a tank cause its a waste of mana and mostly overhealing.

Healings just super boring with more then 4 healers this tier, especially this late in where we’ve got way more gear.
