I’m maining pres evoker this season, and even in a +6 making a small error in timing can easily cause a wipe.
But it’s not just me. I mean, you’re right, maybe I’m just bad! But for tanks and dps as well! Missed interrupt? Timing of pulls gets thrown off? Overcommit cooldowns? The whole key is borked. In a +6! How are we supposed to get ready for +8 if we can’t make small errors in +6?
Anyway, this brought to you by me starting at least 6 COT dungeons today, completing two, and timing one. The one I timed? Nobody stood in stuff and they were good at interrupts and the tank needed very little help. Is that the standard for a +6 being timed? Maybe it is, but in past seasons it seems like healers could heal through some of that.
Yes, it’s standing in stuff, but more often missing interrupts or tank errors. For example there are a couple of casts that have stuns, we pull a pack, I’m trying to set up my ramp and the cast goes off and I’m stunned. Tank gets hit by an orb and gets stunned. I was spamming COT this morning, and a couple of tanks were having trouble telegraphing where they were going on the first boss during the move part and people went different directions. And so on.
It’s not that any one of these mechanics is unreasonable but that there are so many in every dungeon. Also if it was just me, there wouldn’t be a healer shortage.
Really kind of subjective. WoW is the only thing I’ve ever witnessed where if a person can’t perform on the level of someone who is in the top 2-5% of players on the planet, then people consider them bad. lol
Yes, one of the biggest barriers being created for healers right now is you need to RNG into reasonably competent groups to do relatively low content because of the level squish. We all have things we could clean up and do better, but this just isn’t a good season for backpacking an entire group through a dungeon like some seasons in the past.
And more people are jumping in to keys higher than 2-4 because they got geared in delves but they don’t know the dungeons, in my experience.
I could jump to 8s but I don’t want to do that without more practice in the dungeons because then I’m the baddie and this is my first season maining a ramp healer. But the situation in 6-7s is really really bleak.
I’ve been making my own key for my alt, and for my mains. Some key ranges are much better than others. Those keys are 4s for runed. 5s to 2 chest to a 7. 7s to get one chest for a 8 and 8s to 2 chest for 10s. Don’t run 6s or 9s, people grinding on alts won’t linger there. It takes on average 10 minutes to put a group together. The people signing up for 8s that I take are clearly overgeared for the dungeon. if you don’t 2 chest it drop it back to a 8 and try again. Some 10s aren’t’ worth running at 10 initially. COT is the one for me. When I get a COT 10 I drop it to a 8 and hope to 2 chest it. I know it gets repeated alot in here but it’s the truth. It’s easier, faster and your chance of success is much higher when you make your own key. I had like 4 failed 10s on my tank in a row a few weeks back on pugs I joined. I made my own groups with my 11 key and did 3 in a row no issue. When you get some gear and IO then I’d try pugging into some groups but it’s so much easier to make your own in the beginning.
