Increasing HP is not the way to go for PvP. It creates too many other problems, such as pet health not scaling (like warlock spawning a pet with 1/2 health), food being inadequate, healing not scaling properly, health pots being lackluster. Shields, like PWS and warlock void walker sacrifice being lackluster.
Why cant you just go back to the 25% damage nerf and healing debuf if someone was attacked in PvP.
Its not a perfect solution, I get that, but it is way better than just buffing our HP. Also, the changes to PvP should be global and not be just for battlegrounds.
bruh how?!?! lvl 40 bracket, when they did this stupid nerf, mages went oom trying to 1v1 any character and couldnt win, in WSG boomkins and feral tanks were absolute kings at FC, If a feral druid picked it up, and had a healer with them, you couldnt kill the FC nor kill the healer. I remember vividly i ran from the the ALLY flag room with flag in hand, down to the horde base, with 2 1/2 rows of debuffs on me, and DID NOT DIE.
the 25% nerf to classes will never work. To achieve your goal here, isnt to blanket nerf, but to specifically toon Class spells as they do in retail. But the dev team will not do that, so GG’s and womp womp i guess.
Or do what league of legends does in its urf mode, they give specific characters their own %damage reduction. This would be the best bandaid solution. For instance maybe shamans get a 30% reduced damage and a mage would have -10%
I don’t know why they chose to nerf spell damage 50% harder than they did melee/physical. I just watched Payo on his hunter doing instant cast aimed shots for over 3000 damage while the biggest lava burst crits I get in PvP are 1700ish. Bring them both to 20% and remove the healing debuff already. Healing is pointless in PvP right now.
I don’t agree. Damage reduction or % based health increase are equally problematic as they make each point of stamina worth much more than it should and that becomes much more degenerate than any of the problems you listed.
A simple, flat increase to base health is the proper solution imo.
At this point, I hate to say it (I believe Stamina is better than Resilience) but a blanket 50% damage nerf is needed if Blizzard isn’t going to care about PvP balance at all.
No it’s not. If you believe the theory of “if everyone is op game is fine” then the game essentially goes down to fight initiate and who gets the first global and other problems like fights not lasting long enough for second rounds of mobility and cooldowns where some classes regain ground in fights (think mages second blink and nova coming off cooldown) without interactions like these you end up with a very boring version of wow where you don’t even need or can effectively use all your cooldowns. If fights are so short then the actual number chosen for a cooldown is completely disregarded. If you don’t get to use a cooldown twice then the “cooldown” system is essentially worthless as you just use everything once regardless of what the skills cooldown is balanced to be.
Era’s pvp definitely has more depth to it than sods.
