I have two hunters, one for each faction, and I’m trying to decide what DPS spec to for each of them. I mostly do PVE stuff, in case you need to know that.
It changes with every single patch, and sometimes even within the same patch. However, if you are asking about right now then the top DPS is Survival. Marksmanship is 2nd, and Beast Master is pathetically last out of pretty much all specs in the game.
It also depends on how far you want to go. All three specs can do +15’s for the achieve in M+ for example.
Im not too sure on raids as I dont really go past LFR and just hang out in M+.
Surv is the top spec. I dont like the play style though so I play MM or BM.
i have a hunter alt to its always surv and mm hunter rotating i guess the devs got tired of bm dominating in bfa…lol.
surv hunter is easier then mm hunter for pve imo but you ahve to melee so you have to decide ranged or melee.
but in pvp its amazing how good bm hunter is compared to pve i dont have many complaints on bm hunter pvp except we need another cc.

M+: Survival is meta, MM is strong, BM is weak.
Raid: Depends on the fight. Most hunters swap.
Solo: BM.
I play MM Hunter. It’s clumsy, ill fitted together, and possesses little synergy. I remember good times and hope for their return, but it don’t matter. I’ll be paying MM for as long as I can recognize the spec.

Well, not really, but that’s all I can manage, being Focus-starved…Ha!!
I want to avoid an inclined plane wrapped around a central shaft play-style, I want to pick my target and kill it, without killing the whole herd, I’m not a bullet-spitting turret, I’m a Hunter and I hit my mark, not everything in front of me.
I haven’t played group content in years, don’t have the Tier set , probably will never have it, so I am still having to pick my shots as well as my targets, one at a time. Me and my pet, what we do, it’s up to us.
We’re free.
Nothing feels quite as good as being top dps and having your friend rage because 99% of that dps was aimed shot.
MM 1-2 targets even with tier set/vigil still feels bad though. Maybe it’s the BM brainrot.
