Seems more like you people should stop cheating. Never once been banned for addons or all this other crap you people make up. Nobody getting banned because of mass reporting. Just don’t cheat, so simple.

You really come on the forum just to lie huh?

Congrats you abused the report system to ban players who are not breaking any rules because you don’t like what they are doing. BTW knowingly reporting people not breaking rules is against ToS and you should be permabanned for doing it.

They don’t want to admit they’ve spent all that money on their account and it could be gone tomorrow if people decide to report them

I was reported for something and logged in to a two week suspension. Appealed and asked what it was that I said that warranted a suspension instead of a silence and got no answer except that I violated the good boy agreement.

Once you are mass reported they can just look through your chat history until they find something that sticks, no matter how far back, or for no reason at all and never tell you what it was that got you suspended.

How do I know what I can not say if they won’t tell me?

The reporting system pushed me away from a return to wow and on to VR games. Done with WoW, sub expired two days ago but can still post.

Imagine paying $15 every month in 2025 for a game, on top of a thriving MTX shop, and the company can’t even provide basic service like this. Despicable.

I was under the impression it was not banned.

The only ban I recall seeing is for gold loot selling in instance.

I agree this is a huge problem. Even posting something people don’t like on these forums can trigger mass report trolling. I’ve had a few posts removed, only to be restored several days later once they have been reviewed. I get the rationale, if the post truly is offensive Blizzard doesn’t want it to remain active and visible until it can be reviewed. That’s fair, but there should be consequences for abusing the feature.

I’m gonna be honest with you here, I detest mage boosting. I really don’t think it should be a thing. If folks wanna play the game, level a character. If that’s an experience you don’t find enjoyable then you should have to weigh that against whether or not you want to have that character in the first place. If that means you don’t play, then so be it… because leveling is just a part of this game. The monetization of skipping content has become a massive problem and is a primary driver for why botting and RMT are so intertwined with WoW Classic.

Now, having said that…

While GDKP is currently banned, to my knowledge, Mage boosting is not against any kind of rule. Blizzard had the opportunity to bring over the anti-boosting changes from SoM and WotLK/Cata but chose not to. The message here should be clear… Mage boosting is currently an acceptable practice where the game does not actively prohibit it. Regardless of my own personal opinions on the practice and its impact on the game, harassing people for playing the game within the rules Blizzard is laid out is wrong.

I hope your guildmates are reporting the players who harass them.

You have NOT got a booster banned because boosting people in instances IS NOT against the TOS.

Boosting IS NOT against the tos simple google search you can find the post where blizzard themselves state this.

Why do SO many of these “why did I get suspended?” posts seemingly know it was related to something they said but don’t know which thing specifically.

Confirming what I thought; thank you

I report boosters all the time. I get those automated thank you notices every now and then, so some of them are breaking ToS.

Do you only report boosters, or do you report other things (ie, bots) as well?

If these thank you notices are from the boosters, it’s not because they’re boosting, it’s likely because they’re breaking the ToS in other ways. I suspect automation tools or violating advertising practices, but it’s tough to know for sure.

In all fairness, this is also a problem with the report system. There’s some professional farming happening on my server. Sometimes they look and behave exactly like bots, sometimes it’s clearly humans playing. Whenever we see someone who even remotely looks like a bot, even if we’re not sure, we report and let Blizzard sort it out.

If boosters are doing activities that break the ToS, it’s actually impossible to know unless you join their run and watch them. I can understand how you might want to just report and let Blizzard sort it out as well. This would all be a lot easier if Blizzard would just police their own game instead of putting that burden on the players without any further support.
