why has it not been made easier to grind this yet? It’s 9.2 and there’s still no item that lets you just get a free carry-over onto alts. As if a 50% increase makes ANY difference to making this any less cancerous.
Just make it a 1-1 ratio on catalogue research for reputation already. 1-.5 takes so much longer than it should need to in 9.2. Especially when you should be in the new zone. Not freakin korthia. Aids as heck.
They did, there is a weekly that gives you straight up hella rep by quickly taking 15min of your time in the Korthia/maw portal area and killing the big elites and grabbing chests lol I hated the rep and it hella quick now.
They don’t care if it’s fun or not they only care that we are in the zone for a year until 10.0 and they filled it with rewards that force everyone from mount collectors, pvpers and raiders to have to be in the zone.
Like many systems in this game, in order to enjoy the newest content there is no “opt out” because incentives dictate player behavior.
What we want doesn’t matter, but what we will put up with to get what we want does.
it is not “hella quick”
it takes weeks to get to tier 6 with archivists codex.
Let me ask now that 9.2 is out and 226 gear is readily available why go for level 6? I took a 7 month break a couple weeks after 9.1 dropped im still level 5.
What’s level 6 going to provide?

I told my healer to ignore it until they nerfed the grind then we farmed those big tornado things in the maw and he went from 1 to 6 in a few hours.
The 50% alt buff in my experience has been a huge difference.
I did both Korthia reps a second time on an alt post-9.1.5. Only doing the daily quests and whatever rares or chests were along the way. Like 20 minutes tops per day. Didn’t even do the weekly. And I still finished Codex well before reaching exalted with Death’s Advance.
It’s significantly better. And the 50% buff isn’t all there is. When you get higher in ranks you unlock buffs that cause sources to drop more tokens than before. So it gets progressively faster.
But I do agree it never made sense why it wasn’t a 1-1 conversion.
…no it doesn’t? When they updated it, my friend literally went from nothing to exalted on the same day.
I hit exalted on 4 toons pre-buff.
Archivist’s is arguably one of the easiest reps in the game now, especially on alts.
But what do you need from Archivist’s? The only thing you might use is the mount, but there’s a free recolor from a rare you can get.
Isn’t there a token you can buy that gives you double the rep for turn ins?

Are you getting any of the major treasures or doing the rifts? Because I was tier 4 in two days.
233 with decent stats. And the rep gets you paragon caches, crafter’s marks, a mount and a 239 piece.
Yea, but you can buy 226 tokens for every slot right off the bat in Haven. No grinding required. Just 500 anima each slot. And better Crafters Marks from Enlightened Rep.
And my Cypher Gear is already dropping at 249. It’d be 252, but I’m waiting 8 hours to finish one of my researches to start the upgraded version of it.
But yea, the mounts are exclusive to them, but it’s far from a hard grind. The original Archivists was ridiculous but after the buffs it’s easily manageable.
233 is higher than 226. Depending on the class, that could make life a lot easier. Especially if they have decent stats on their Korthia gear right now and want to use that anima elsewhere. It’s just a different perspective on how someone might want to play.
Mine is at 236/239 with crap stats. Of course, nothing is really giving me gear, either. So…
Yeah, for alts the Archivist is pretty easy. I’ll most likely spend more time there than ZM. But that’s just me.
I mean, they can buy crafted gear with perfect stats at ilvl233 as well from the AH (that also have fun added effects like increased movement speed)
But I’m not harshing on people who wanna do Korthia stuff at all, more power to ya, I enjoyed it when I still had stuff to get there. Just pointing out Archivist’s isn’t as bad as the OP is making it seem haha.
Could be too expensive for them. 
Speaking of which… I love how the “increased movement and mounted speed” doesn’t work on the ZM gear. 
LOL nope! It’s definitely not.
I’ll be out there, because I slacked on transmog and still need to get the recolors from Death’s Advance rep.
Or flight speed. A few people in communities I’m in are so mad. They dropped ~500k on a full set of BoE gear with the air sails on them specifically for the flight speed and then Blizzard hotfixed it so they dont affect flight speed.

Some of the things they’ve done in 9.2 boggle the mind.
Edit: hey, question you can probably answer. What’s faster, hitting Revered with Death’s Advance or getting 20 more renown for three different covenants? I want to get those transmog recolors from the Death’s Advance vendor, but only Thallia is Exalted. My other alts are all at Honored or Friendly.
