I want player housing. The overworld needs something added to it. And craftable furniture could be added to professions. It can be opt in, so you don’t get drops or recipes unless you want them. It’s evergreen content that can give people something to do in between content patches. And lends to the RPG aspect of the game.

Doesn’t matter if you do not consider garrisons housing. It is still WoW’s player housing. After all, WoW is about warcraft, and nothing is more warcraft then having your own base!

While technically true, I didn’t feel like I had much say in how my Garrison filled out and it’s location was terrible on top of having no control over the look and feel of it. That’s why I’m more in the group of actual housing, because I want to design everything…inside and out…along with different styles. Maybe I want my place to have a Horde feel (even though I’m Alliance), I’d like that option.

Housing isn’t important to me so I don’t want resources to go into developing it.
Others feel differently, and that is ok.
It is unlikely that anyone posting here really knows what percentage of players really want or do not want housing.

While I personally would definitely enjoy and make use of housing, I don’t see it happening anytime soon. I really do think people are massively underestimating the amount of time and resources it would take to implement it the way folks want it to be done.
I also think it would not be used as much as some think. Sure, some folks would enjoy it forever but the large majority of players would probably get bored with it after a few weeks or months and it would go stagnant.
I think a more realistic option would be to bring back Garrisons but increase their ability to be customized.
All that being said, I just don’t see Housing happening the way folks want it to. It would seem to be a massive shift in design philosophy on Blizzard’s part and that just does not seem likely to me at this point in the game’s life.

the difference isnt going to be between sitting in my own housing vs a city. it’s going to be sitting in my own house vs BEING LOGGED OFF.

This is awesome. You know what would also be cool, if they added the ability to play the match 3 games in our house as well. I’d be all over that. Sitting in my little cabin playing a game…sounds awesome to me.

I do agree with some of this, i wouldn’t mind being able to choose where my base is. But I disagree with having a house, running a military base can be so much cooler.
I agree we should had more choices on how to build buildings and where.
I beleive we should had the ability to more equip our soldiers with gear to give them different appearances as well as assign unique soldiers to different places in the garrison.
We should be able to create a garrison type of our choosing, if we wanted to build a pirate base or a hunting camp, we should be able to do so.
Garrisons if updated can be much more interesting then being mmo #957031 with sim-like player housing. (Seriously if you want to customize a house play the sims lol)

I agree pet battles may not have taken a lot of work however I’d imagine that transmog takes a fair amount of development time despite the fact it isn’t the most complicated. Also, I could just be misunderstanding what you are saying but most people rarely use pet battles.

For me, I want something more private. I don’t need (or want) to run a base. Just have a nice quiet place somewhere to relax and just design it the way I want. Those things you mention about an updated garrison would be cool, too. I just have less vested interest in that since I don’t want to be some commander. However, if they were to go that route, I don’t think I’d be mad about it. As long as we got more customizable stuff so that our garrison could be our own.
