The anniversary event requires way too much grinding EDIT: New changes make the event much better!

i’m all for doing some work for stuff in game but three weeks worth of work to get one t2 set is a bit much.

this event could have been something enjoyable that my friends and i engaged with for fun but it’s been designed to require too much time to the point where it is just not fun.

After the changes announced to the currency acquisition for anniversary cosmetics, i change my stance and am very happy with the event!

thank you blizzard.

It’s… a bit much. Getting only 3 coins per quest when an armor mog costs 80 coins feels awful. I want the DK mog, but I’m already seeing the possibility of me not getting it. I’m really not into this.

Edit: 60 coins for the first mog.

80? I thought I saw it was 60 per set.
60 was bad enough…Im not interested as it is…80 isnt happening.

I might be misremembering, but I could have swore I saw 80 at the vendor. Either way, still not feeling it.

The armor mogs do not cost 80 Tokens.

The first one costs 60.
The next one costs 40.
The rest cost 20.

Edit: And when did we all decide that grinding just meant any activity we don’t want to do? It used to mean standing in one place killing the same mobs for hours on end.

You can’t grind something that’s weekly capped.

you mean the prices go down when you buy the first and second set?
is this documented somewhere?

3 weeks out a 3 month event. wowwwwwww so much work.

You have around 11 weeks to do it, but I’m also not opposed to Blizzard dialing up token drop rates or making the sets cheaper. Either way, I’ll get what I’m after from the tier vendor regardless of pacing.

are you still wearing your plunderstorm transmog?

I wish they would respect our time by rewarding us with more tokens or lowering the cost from 60 for the initial set to 40, then the 2nd to 30, then 20. Quest should reward a minimum of 3.

Hit Y and look at the Achievements. Its right there.

It’s also in the official WoW news article I linked, for those that are against using Wowhead or don’t trust their info.

I’m not stressing it, it’s been said it’ll all return in the future right?

Did I get that wrong?

Developer Insights: For the Anniversary event, we want these epic new rewards to feel both special to players and well-earned. To that end, we have worked to create a rewarding system that should help players earn their first Tier 2 set in the first 2-3 weeks depending upon their play style. We know that there are a lot of people who are excited to earn more sets, if not all of them. To accommodate this, we have both discounts and increased abilities to earn currency that kick in after those early weeks (detailed further below). This should allow players who play through the event regularly to have the ability to earn all thirteen of these Tier Sets and many if not all of the other new cosmetic rewards tied to the anniversary. If you run out of time this year, don’t worry, we will have the sets available from the anniversary event in future years.

LOL It’s never meant that. that’s called farming.

Grinding is almost everything in WoW. Grinding for the weekly bank vault! Delver’s Journey (the War within Season 1) is a grind, PVE and PVP gear has resulting in grinding. So much time played for little, to sometimes no reward. WoW’s grinding has gotten worse over time. This 20th anniversary was suppose to be a fun experience for players, but it’s turned into the worse grind.

People complaning about Bronze.
Me, scared that each weapon cost 2500 Timewalking Badges.

THAT is a grind, the Bronze for the sets are fine.

In my experience it would generally be called farming if you’re doing it for loot, but if you’re doing it for xp or rep it’s grinding.

I started out with over 42k badges. After visiting those vendors, I have about 5k. Oof.
