The Jinyu are among the easiest races to add to the Alliance alongside the Ankoan, Frostborn Dwarves, the Broken and the Furbolg.
I really hope to see the Jinyu soon.

With the Broken, donât forget the Broken!!
Oh yes! The Broken!
I knew I was forgetting someone.
Have:
Worgen = Wolfman
Undead = Frankenstein
Need:
Jinyu = Gillman
Venthyr = Dracula
Sethrak = Mummy(?)
The Jinyu could be the main race and we could get Ankoan customizations for them to get these 2 races at the same time.
Iâve kinda wanted the Jinyu to be paired with the Hozen and the Ankoan paired with the Kelfin but I realize that would probably be received poorly.
So Iâd be ok with that as long as there was some nod to it lorewise or from an NPC or something⌠Though Iâd wonder who weâd pair with the Hozen in that case. They are a part of the Horde and I think they should be playable too.
That would be ethereals.
So I could add a Fish Man to my roster?
Cool. I have a theme to consider.
Skeledude: Undead Destruction Warlock
Bitterbabe: Female Blood Elf Shadow Priest
Beastmon: Troll Feral Druid
Threeeyes: Blood Elf Outlaw Rogue with Nâzoth Helm
Trapshot: Undead Survival Hunter
Sushi: Ankoan Arms Warrior
Also this.
Iâm sold, but I still want Ogres first. Lotharkilla needs his time to shine.
Jinyu, Hozen, Centaur, Gnoll, Murloc, Furbolg, Harpy, Quillboar, Kobold, Ogre.
How many years have we been waiting?
I didnât see this here so I post it here (6 Jinyu skin colors for their customization as playable race):
Interessing fact: We got two Jinyu in BfA, one in Boralus (Traveler Nali) and another one in Dazarâalor (Bohai).
Bohai is in Dazarâalor, he is friendly with Alliance and Horde.
Traveler Nali is in Boralus, he is friendly with the Alliance players and hostile with you if you are in the Horde. He has a Jinyu banner near of him.
Itâs interessing to see a Jinyu aligned with the Alliance only when we got a friendly Jinyu with the both sides. We could suppose this Traveler Nali could be a member of the Pearlfin tribe so it could explain why he is friendly with the Alliance and hostile with the Horde. Bohai seems to come from another tribe.
But with Traveler Nali in BfA, we got another example of a Jinyu in the Alliance even if itâs only a seller. Itâs a new step in the process to get Jinyu as playable race in the Alliance.
i could see them taking the lazy route by just making males and females share a model like they do with dracthyr
Theres also some Jinyu around the Spa in Dragonflight.
Iâd be curious to check and see how they appear to the Alliance vs. Horde.
Iâd love it if Blizzard added some of the Pearlfin and Forest Hozen to Stormwind and Orgrimmar at some point. Even if they donât at the same time make either playable.
Gods I really think the Jinyu would fit so well into the Alliance thematically and just in general. We really need to see these guys get added as a playable race.
I doubt this for two reasons.
1, they didnât make male and female Dracthyr share a model they just didnât do dimorphism for their dragon forms. Their visage are clearly male and female depending on your choices.
2, while fish folk have no reason to have mammalian characteristics, Blizzard has never added a race that doesnât have some sort of sexual dimorphism (Whether this is in their âtrue formâ or not) into the game and I donât really see them doing so anytime soon.
Even with races like the Sethrak we can see the potential slight changes between a male sethrak and a female sethrak through Sethralissâ humanoid form she reincarnated into. I have no doubts that even without breasts Blizzard would still entertain some slight changes between a male and female model.
To this very day the Jinyu and Ankoan havenât been playable. I donât know what got over me during the times of BFA atleast for my blind anger for allied races on the alliance well atleast with the High Elf Thing that was happening at the time but man I wish the Ankoan were the allied races and playable on the Alliance.
It would be off to some on the Alliance? Yes but only a extremely tiny few. After experiencing Pandaria and Ankoan makes me wish we could have gotten a Azshara Expansion. That would be great someday in the future.
Honestly Iâd have focused, if I were Blizzard, during BfA on the races that were already a part of the Alliance and Horde.
First batch of four ARâs would have been: Jinyu (A) Frostborn Dwarves (A) Taunka (H) and Forest Hozen (H).
Bring those races from Wrath and MoP who are already part of their factions.
I truly have never understood why anyone wants these guys. Theyâre so ugly and they use the night elf model as a base, so they have those awful night elf animations
Plus it makes no sense for them to be anywhere there isnât water. Imagine trying to fight the war in BFA if we sent a battalion of these guys into vul dun lol.
To each their own. Lot of folk donât understand why anyone would play a gnome yet here you and I are. (I love my mechagnomes)
Volâdun is surrounded by water.
Either way while they do enjoy water and specifically rivers and streams and lakes, theyâre not stuck in them. Theyâre clearly fine outside of water. Thats a lot like claiming theres no reason there would be Night Elves in a desert⌠Theyâre a forest folk and not designed for that environment either. Nor are humans designed for sayâŚthe Frigid North.
Each race has their own favorable biomes but that doesnât mean its the only place they could operate.
No one is going to play ugly fish men.
Debatable. Being next to a river in ankle deep water in a tropical forest doesnât mean you can suddenly survive in a volcanic wasteland, or bone dry 120 degree desert with no water.
I will⌠soâŚ
You can find Jinyu in other locations as well. Like in Dragonflight, on a mountain. There is no evidence to suggest they cannot go any other place that a more terrestrial race could.
Even if they did need that, they arenât dumb⌠they can bring water with them.
Also Volâdun is surrounded by water. Jinyu have no issues between salt or fresh water.
