The Anduin Cinematic is great and yall hate things for no reason

I really said it all in the title, but I honestly dont understand the hate with the new cinematic. I thought it was handled really well, and really loved both Varian and Saurfang’s appearance, as well as Sylvanas finally admitting she became the same thing as Arthas.

I honestly feel like the people who are hating on this would have hated on it literally no matter what happened.

Idk, I thought it was great.

Change. Scaring people since the dawn of time.

I liked it too. People who hate it just are edgy, angry, people who honestly speaking outgrew the game a while ago, and can’t give it a fair shake. They like to say “I’m done with Blizz…” or “It’s too late now…” but we all know that’s pure bullocks. The story could of been pure Tolkien and they’d be screaming about the fact that Morgoth was forgotten and not even mentioned in Sauron’s final scene.

I used to be of a similar mindset until Sanctum of Dominion where a lot about Sylvanas finally came out. Then I started to recognize that I was being unfairly biased by the past, and I started to view the events based off their own merits, rather than colored by what I ‘thought’ I knew.

Now I am really interested and hope to see this story continue.

I liked it. At least nobody can argue it’s anywhere as bad as the N’zoth defeat cinematic.

No problems with anything you mentioned. But if that’s how they were going to handle Arthas, they shouldn’t have mentioned him at all, imo.

People are too jaded on SL, they’ll hate everything no matter what happens. Most expansion’s stories have been disliked actually, at least on the internet, it’s not even unique to SL. This is just standard response to rip it apart.

If you really want to enjoy the story it’s probably better to avoid saying so here. Whenever I try to be positive about it I get told my opinion is useless because I’m not on the hatred bandwagon.

Arthas being controlled by the jailer when he picked up Frostmourne and many bad things happening: “WOW YOU SUCK ARTHAS GO AWAY FOREVER NO ONE WILL REMEMBER YOU”

Sylvanas being controlled by the jailer up until SL and many bad things happening: IT’S OK BB WE FORGIVE YOU YEAH YOU TELL HIM HOW BAD HE IS FOR BEING CONTROLLED LIKE YOU WERE.

Bucket is full of holes, fam.

It wasn’t bad, but I was expecting more.

Literally who is saying this

An expansion set in the literal afterlife, teasing the return of a character with high investment (and arguably the highest investment of the series), ends by announcing that they disenchanted that character off-screen, but you can watch his last sparkle fade.

It’s so astoundingly bad, it crosses the line into honestly being hilarious.

Wait for it. The false flag brigade hasn’t come out yet. Too busy spraying Visine in their eyes to try and make more tears come out than they actually have. I give it another twenty.

Sorry, Arthas doesn’t have the proper “assets.”

So I really liked the first part of it, drawing inspiration from the only two who split his wep before he did was great stuff imo. I just didn’t like how the whole sylvanas part happened. I don’t really even mind the fact she was the one with the monologue, it’s just the fact the monologue was not very good.

I didn’t mind it either, but I also don’t particularly care for Arthas, Jaina, Anduin, so I wasn’t really disappointed.

Agreed. Whoever keeps hating on the cinematic needs to calm down and drink some mountain dew.

Mmm… Mountain dew.

“No reason”. No, I have plenty of reasons to hate this trash story.

Elaborate. Please.

Honestly I didn’t even play wotlk and the ending of the cinematic felt ridiculous. The terrifying lich king reduced to a wisp, cmon. It’s not terrible but I hope Sylvanas won’t have another monologue when the jailer will die. There’s so many characters and yet it feels like we’re watching a netflix show where she’s the main character

I see such weird complaints about it.

People are mad that arthas didn’t get real screen time. People are mad that sylvanas talked in the cutscene (in an expansion that is very much about her storyline). People are mad that it was varian AND saurfang. People are just mad…for no real reason.

Be glad that Arthas didn’t get real screentime here. His storyline ended in wrath of the lich king. Anything more than a floaty orb to represent his withering away and being truly dead would have been bad. What could he have said or done in the cutscene? He was a monster of his own making, well before frostmourne ate his soul.

This whole expansion, and the lead up to it, has just been Sylvanas’s wild yo-yo adventure. Her story arc feels like it’s drawing to a close, let it.

I agree, how dare people be critical and invested in the story of a Role Playing Game!

How dare they!

Except he was being manipulated by the very same forces that were manipulating Sylvanas. He was manipulated by Mal’ganis and the Scourge orchestrating events to lead him into being the person he was. That would’ve been fine except they’re trying to absolve Sylvanas of what she’s done despite her being the same as Arthas. She even acknowledges this.

So Arthas didn’t deserve this crap about how he was always an awful person, because people choose to be awful, apparently. He deserved understanding from Sylvanas, especially because Tyrande is expected to just let things go and just renew. Funny how Sylvanas deserves that, but Arthas should fade into nonexistence and be forgotten forever. At least he’s out of this game’s awful story once and for all, if only all of us could be so lucky.
