i think the only real issue here is that the DRs seem to be fumbled
unleash knock+root doesn’t DR thunderstorm or root totem which is kinda weird
i could see that being pretty oppressive tbh
this isn’t really considering static field either which obviously wouldn’t DR with any of the knocks/roots regardless and it’ll be hard to take BOTH unleash+static with 3 slots
i think this has potential with ww/mw

My guy listed 2 roots, cap totem that’s killable and delayed and won’t be taken for better talents, lasso a channeled/kickable stun, hex a cleansable by dps poly on a cd, sundering a what 2 sec incap in a small line? And a racial. So you want an enh shaman to run cap stun AND the reset talent for it that dumps a second one, than still chain down the tree for lasso and also on the way pick up spiritwalkers, AND in the character select screen pick Tauren? How bad of a build you tryna make here? Or is this a “trick enough shaman players into thinking this is good and they might all do it and be scuffed” thread.

unleash is weird cuz sham has such great pvp talents it’s hard to make room for it, and it costs basically 2 globals. It’s rly good but not a lot of people run it
if you meant past tense it was def hard to justify outside of blades edge scenarios forsure
but with double shield talent getting the knock + the root will easily make it situationally better than static field i think so it’ll be useable forsure

you really don’t lose basically anything to have access to thunderstorm+root+unleash
a LOT of specs are getting access to a LOT of tools though so i’m not sure if unleash should DR but it’s something to watch

yeah the both shields value was a recent fix on the ptr and it never required you to reapply after use
lightning shield also won’t be purgable in DF (last i checked)
which is a really bad change for purge protection
but a pretty big buff to unleash shield (situationally ofc)
yah knock+root in one global is pretty legendary

On release the talent did expunge the current shield and also had less range/1s less on root

I don’t want it to DR because I’m heavily biased and shaman just lacks hard cc without any caveats
Looking at what’s so far perceived as S tier comps, a lot of double melee, so I think static field will still be king in that it stops everyone inside instead of just one person. I can see a good use case for this in 2s or maybe vs melee/caster, but static field also helps you lock people down and prevent runners, it’s not just escape. Ele/resto will probably see more use of this than enh.

Knocks DR 100% after the first I think. You can’t knock someone twice. So Unleash shield not DRing w/thunderstorm means you can use them both on same target.
The root is only 4 seconds so I think it doesn’t share DR because of that.
are you explaining knock DRs to me or are you telling me they fixed unleash DR in the last 2 weeks?

Because the knock DR would negate thunderstorm and the root is short.
