(Copied from a similar post directed at the classic community at large. Definitely applies on a per-server basis.)
No guild drama. No barriers to entry. No focus on who gets what tag. That’s what the horde are doing now; world boss is up, and the first thing they think of is “lets beat the alliance!”
They’re doing it right. They come to Azzy with 200+ in a matter of minutes at midnight. We’re never going to kill the dragon again at this rate.
We need to do the same to compete. Discord server controlled by no particular guild, for every single alliance member who wants to participate in the ridiculous lagfests. No cliques. I don’t care who leads it, so long as the thing is as open as the current Horde setup.
UPDATE: After some discussion on the alliance leadership channel on the Grobb Discord, we’ve narrowed down what we need to essentially 4 simple things contained in 1 Discord server (not including in game channels which is still a great idea):
- A system of alerts everyone and their brother can see, basically a world boss alert channel with open access but with typing privileges restricted to guild leaders/officers so no false reports and no spam
- A mechanism for forming raids among the rag-tag bands, so a looking for raid channel on that discord right below it
- A voice chat or ideally an array of voice chat channels for people to hop into with appropriate speaking privilege restriction
- A publicly open link and the ability of people to generate their own links
It is starting to look like the SI:7 server is going to be repurposed towards this goal. I think this could do the trick.

I’ll run your discord, no bamboozle

The irony is that the response times are so fast that intel security is almost worthless (besides concealing summon locations), so this would technically work
Wouldn’t be the first time, either lol

Lmao life comes at you fast
Keep the pious and self loathing ejanitors moderating the subreddit and the server discord away from any control of it and it might be successful.
Also, somehow you have a worse reputation (Cybaster) than I do and they turned me into a celebrity.

I would be amazed if you could make something like that work. There seems to be quite a bit of drama alliance side. A lot of intrafaction hatred. Person x hates guild y and refuses to group with any of their members. I hope that you are successful in this though.

I thought there was already an organized group over there on Alliance side? I heard all about them over on the subreddit. Obsidian Coalition right?
Bargg, you wrote me one of the most detailed and longest wow letters of all time. Was a fun read.

Hopefully i made some kind of point in that stoned rambling
Thought for sure you were an alt of a well known writer, but if not you had a strong 4-5 pages. The tail end I think you lost some steam lol.

Paladin, you can right click mobs with seals up and play on your main at the same time. That’s what I’m doing.
correct. and OP and his guild were offered to join it but refused, which is why alliance has been so sloppy at world bosses.
Well, as a member of the Horde I shall exult in the Alliance’s misfortune!
points at the Alliance
Ha-ha!
EDIT: In all seriousness, it’s pretty crazy to see the amount of infighting going on over on the blue side. Before Phase 2 I would have considered the Alliance the more unified of the two factions, what with all of your city raids and that one joint endeavor where a bunch of your guilds killed all of our city leaders at the same time. I wasn’t really impressed by the zerg rushing and the 100-300+ city raids, but I could at least respect/admire the coordination.
Ever since Phase 2 hit though, the coordination doesn’t seem to be as prevalent amongst the Alliance, truth be told.
