She’s the only one who seems to truly care about what happens with the souls in her care and what happens to them.
She bound herself to a regular soul rather than see it unfairly condemned to to the maw. She seems to genuinely care about Kael’s rehabilitation, and forcing him to actually understand his sins and repent. Even the voice actress seems to express real rage when the accuser finds out what was being done to the souls that were supposed to be in venthyr care.
Most of bastion people you can barely tell them apart. Necros each soul is just another piece of meat for the grinder. And most of the NF characters are more concerned about having fun than the actual souls getting destroyed.
Kyrian can’t care by their nature, Necrolord ye Big Fite always, and Night Fae care for souls in an almost entirely passive process. Makes sense the Venthyr would act with the most investment.
Xandria is a good character in comparison to the other Paragons.
Unlike Vesiphone and her hand Eridia the Paragon of Courage Xandria is easily distinguishable from her hands.
Of course as you mentioned one can barely tell Xandria apart from the new Polemarch Kalisthene who is all conservative just as Eridia, Paragon Adrestes and the Archon Kyrestia all used to be before the end of Chains of Domination’s Storyline.
Marileth is a good character as well.
Willowblossom was also a good character willing to sacrifice her life for the Shadowlands even if her rival Lady Moonberry, Lady Moonberry’s 4 Spouses(Droman Aliothe, Lord Herne, Zayhad and the Winter Queen) and Ysera had come to personally kill her off.
Theotar, the Curator, the Countess, the Stonewright and the Accuser are all good characters themselves.
I knew I’d love her the second the Chamberlain tried to read her sinstone and she’s not phased at all. ( Well up until the dead daughter mention but other than that, not phased )
Willowblossom was the one suggesting she be used as the sacrifice.
She saw that the Winter Queen wasn’t going to sacrifice anyone else and decided that she the rival of the Winter Queen’s spouse was the only one who could do it…
The Winter Queen would have never let anyone else sacrifice their lives so in the end Willowblossom willingly chose to give her own life selflessly.
I can imagine the Winter Queen’s inner amazement that her spouse’s rival who was a thorn in her side was willing to die for Bastion. One final passive-aggressive insult one might say. The barbed sting of Willowblossom’s sacrifice will be a major blow to Lady Moonberry and her Spouses’ egos one can be certain.
Their victory in getting rid of her will be hollow and it will be clear that she wholly escaped them to where they can’t follow her and that will eat away at them. They were defeated by her and they I’m sure know it!
I feel like you’re interpreting this differently than it’s presented, for one thing the Winter queen states that the “Vessels” of Ardenweald (which we later learn are the Fae themselves) are precious and when Willowblossom pledges to prepare the vessel (herself) the queen even states that that is a pledge not made lightly (in hindsight we see WHY it isn’t made lightly). Also if you watch the scene again, you’ll note I am not among the ritual attendants (a group which is composed of the governmental members of the Court of Night), merely an escort for the PC to the ritual.
