They didn’t scale against it. Even my Clefthoof is getting hit hard and would easily die if Mend Pet isn’t up for entire fights with elites. If the world boss turns to them they take massive spike damage.
I cannot even imagine how bad it is for other pets or pets without the BM buffs since Clefthoof is the top pet family atm.
Blizzard really didn’t think through the 25% damage increase at all.

Mend pet is based on percent health iirc, and our characters gained 25% health. Don’t pets scale off of player HP, so they did scale with it?
They’re getting hit way harder. Everything is.
Blizzard didn’t think this through.
The 25% increase was because Blizzard had a knee jerk reaction to the top 0.1% and balanced around them. Screw the rest of us.

Yeah pets are definitely dying a lot easier.
It doesn’t seem any different than how hard things were hitting as a fresh lvl 70 in the beginning of DF. Usually when a new patch drops, mobs hit harder, so we’re not as strong against them as we were in older zones. Just have to hit mend pet more now than before. Give it a few weeks and we’ll be back to where we were with new gear.

Blizzard made the choice to have huge mob density in the new area. All mobs have 25% more damage. Elites have massive health pools.
All those mobs are mobbing your pet.
It’s like Blizzard forgot that most encounters aren’t 1 vs 1. So 25% health is far lower than 25% damage increase when you’re forced into 3-10 mob fights as they’re so close together
I’ll take, “Stupid things people complain about on the forums” for $500 Alex…

I have experienced some problems as well, I think the problem is that the typical tanking pets usually massively healed themselves with leech and since we aren’t doing 25% more dmg, the leech healing the pets do to themselves has been nerfed compared to the damage they take which was increased by 25% without the leech healing being increased to compensate.

There also seems to be a lot more floor crap and AoEs that can kill pets in the new zone. Like that one rare that spawns fire pools and there’s just no way to keep pets from standing in them.

You could try making more productive posts in the future, you know.
Not sure why you insult yourself.
I don’t understand why healers got nerfed to. I need them. I seem to get a lot of damage and die quick even though my ilv 400.
Because Blizzard didn’t consider the long term ramifications.
Damage was increased and healing nerfed because of M+ high key players. That’s the only reason.
Blizzard forgets that 99%+ of the player base doesn’t play like that.

why is everyone in this thread acting like mend pet isnt a % based hp? why are we pretending pet health doesnt scale with yours as well?
Shouldn’t elites be hard though? Like I would have thought you should have to use all your cool downs to down one. This is part of why I don’t play retail anymore I suppose.

Oh, right. Cooldowns. Those things other classes have.

Because bad players don’t understand simple game mechanics. There are several people in this thread who are only reinforcing the huntard name commonly lumped on people who play this class.
Think about it… the op is essentially, “I can’t pull multiple elites and go eat nachos while my pet does everything, and I even have to cast mend pet. The horror!”
I really hope they buff healing in a fix realizing they made a mistake. I play evoker deviation.

this change was made because they felt healing was doing too much, so I do not think that will happen
The issue is the mob density that greatly enhances the damage buffs. Tankier classes aren’t having too much issue, and BM Hunters can handle it fine.
The issue is that Blizzard forgot about squishier classes/pets and didn’t factor in the mob density.
This has also affected leveling as well. My alts in chromie time are taking an absolute beating now.
