The 10.2.6 Content Update Arrives March 19

Yes, cosmetics, which are as useful as player power-increasing items to those who care about them.

I’ll be here for the patch, but I dislike that it’s a “limited time event” rather than some sort of lasting content, or content that could be revisited later.

I’m all for letting people do things in their own time.

pirates is always fun.

So you know nothing. Got it.

Not a single person who advocates against FOMO has said it isn’t a player problem.

But Blizzard continues to put players in a position where it becomes a problem for the players.

If a house is burning from arson, do you say it’s the fault of the residents? Or do you blame the person who set the fire?

Time limited with no return is FOMO by definition.
This has no place in digital services.

I honestly think, and I’m not even being cynical, it’ll launch, not work, get a round of hot fixes and then be something you can probably complete in no time, either through spawn adjustments or a currency fix or whatever. So hopefully the time of event is irrelevant in the respect that its either completable at a player dictated pace, or, fixed quickly when borked. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Either way…who knoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooows

you know nothing on how ‘limited time’ it is

it could be a yearly event for all you know

You know the saying this meeting could have been an email?

This is the developer update equivalent to that.

Some people do want the rewards. And just like this current event, we don’t know if we’ll ever see them again. Usually it’s cosmetics. Some care about those and that creates the psychological phenomenon known as FOMO. Others don’t much care, so they don’t feel that way.

That’s really all there is to it. Different people are different.

Seeing the same few people in this thread having 20+ posts already, defending this major company like its their mom/dad is funny… Just let them believe what they want to believe, you cant convince people if they refuse to see it any other way.

I see a lot of disappointment in this small post about a patch they hyped up a lot by teasing… Thats kinda what happens when you do things this way. Can only hope they learn, but… with reskinned events happening so often for them, not sure they can.

Who’s defending Blizzard? All I see is a semantics argument over FOMO. lol

Titanspite keeps saying it’s not Blizzards fault and it’s a player problem.

How can it be FOMO when the people complaining about it are already subbed and going to be playing when it’s out anyways?

How is a vague event no one knows anything about going to FOMO people who aren’t already playing into forking over money?

The whole point of FOMO is to extract money out of people, and anyone posting on the WoW forums has already paid.

They’d defend a pile of feces if Blizzard handed it to them.
