I won’t tank it. After all this time I still have no idea where to go in that damn place.
I’m very much direction-ally challenged. I captured the mine in classic AV for that delicious quest XP and got lost 4 times trying to leave.
dont the doorways that open change.
I ran that dungeon exactly one time. I don’t remember a single thing about it, except how mind-numbingly confusing it was. I couldn’t find my way out of there if I wanted to.
Hell, I still get lost in Dire Maul. Way crest manor is also a BIG no-no
I actually like Waycrest now. I will readily admit that it was difficult to navigate for me for quite a while, but after tanking it in Mythics a number of times, you actually do get a sense for where the progression doors are and what parts of the dungeon are a ‘section’.
Each section individually navigates easily, so as long as you know what the sections are and where the links are between them, you basically narrow things down to 2-4 paths.
You just have to think ahead, as long as you don’t get confused at the first door you should be fine.
Ah but it’s easy! You just go:
Up the stairs > down the hall > round the corner > down the other hall > through the doors > across the courtyard > realize that was wrong > down more stairs > back up those same stairs > sit in the corner and feel bad > hit a locked door > give up all hope > escape out the entrance > run away before you get lost again > drown your sorrows at the nearest tavern
I mean those are super simple directions, if that doesn’t work we can’t help you.
Pssh, you know they’re hearthing, you dirty dirty smear merchant.
There is only one open door in the beginning, then u just think of the closest boss and go to it. It’s pretty linear as long as you don’t get flustered.
Logging out and logging back in helps me in that hell hole. Even BRD is better than waycrest manor.
Oh I was joking about it, I actually know the layout very well.
But I get the problem some might have. Just last week there was a tank in our run who was unfamiliar with it and somewhat lost with where to go. It takes some getting used to.
I got a chicken pet quest… its been over a year and it is still in my quest log.
I usually love dungeons, but most of the BFA ones I don’t like, and this one is a great example. Most of them just seem like they were designed to be unfun and annoying.
It’s a garbage maze instance. Worse than wailing caverns.
You’re going to love Tor’ghast.
Blackrock city just pisses me off. Do not get me started on that labyrinth.
Just look at the map bruh.
Is beautiful.
They do, but there’s only a couple of preset options.
Facing the staircase from entrance.
Left upper. (Sisters first)
Right upper. (Pig boy first)
Right lower.
If you start right, you also have the option of going through the hallway or up the stairs to reach sisters.
Once you kill a boss, all associated doors will open. Once you kill Sisters and Pig Boy, ALL doors are now open.
You can go into the basement via the Kitchen (near pig boy) or at the opposite end of the hallway for the Sisters.
The dungeon itself is fairly linear in practice, routes are predetermined by which way the ghosts go at the very start of the instance. If you keep an eye on that one detail, it’s usually pretty easy to navigate.
I think I have it (mostly) figured out, but every time I’m there, I’m glad I’m the healer. I just need to follow the rest of the group.
