The “gap,” now M+ goes from 0 to 10 bummer

Yup, I just have to suck it up and play higher than previously. But without affixes I’m sure it’ll be cake I’m taking my most alt of alts into one tonight after the family goes to sleep. If she can do it they all can

I don’t get why they didn’t just fold heroic into m0. Then you do +1, etc.

Normal —> Heroic------> Mythic 1----> Mythic 2, etc.

Mythic 1 would have a timer, right?

They explicitly made Heroic and M0 harder so that people that HATE timers, would have stuff to do that was non-trivial.

I guess that is the thing that people, myself included ate overlooking. Assuming the group is likeminded an M0 even though it is closer to an old 10 is much much easier. No rush, no tyrannical/fort and no affixes at all.

I feel the same. As someone who has many alts, and would take fresher 70s into +2’s then gear them, some might stop at like a +5, some get to +10 but now? Well…Heroics = queue content = yuck. Can’t deal with the toxic level of those. At least if I make my own group I can pick who I want, and kick if they are toxic etc and now I lost my desire to play alts. Which puts me back to square 1. No alts = bored quick = long breaks

This is going to accomplish what I have tried to do myself for four seasons now, focus on 1-2 characters. My alts will do world content for decent gear and that’s if. I’ll catch up in the pre patch I’m sure.

I think if heroic were a 5 key and offered higher ilvl things would be fine. M0 is fine where it is just the gap between the two is too large for people learning, heroic should be dangerous if you make consistent mistakes, m0 and greater if you make significant ones at the ilvl it drops

We’re not going to see how the new M+ scaling works until the first season of TWW. It’s not that noticeable now because most players are geared and already know these dungeons. I think blizz is going to have to make some changes when a lot of players get hard stuck on heroics or mythic 0’s when they hit max level.

I mean, that’s kind of my point.

Which is to say that heroics should be something like difficult, but without a timer. Mythics should have them (if that’s the thing that people want.)

But people want whatever the bigger word is.

I guess we’ll keep the “small/large/extra large/ superduper large” dichotomy.

Just as i predicted, this squish, like every squish blizzard ever does, is a huge screw up and mistake. changed something that did not need to be changed gg.

Do more heroics to get geared, do the timewalking quest, do the weekly last hurrah quest, do the outdoor world events and world boss. Gear is dropping like candy all over the place, it is so insanely easy to get alts geared up right now. You can do m0s at around 470-ish, which is not too difficult to get right now considering LFR is dropping gear that is almost on par with mythic gear from s3.

It’s the first week. Don’t rush it.

This is the way. M0 as it is right now is how Heroic was back in the day, and that’s fine. Reasonable challenge for the casually minded.

I wouldn’t be surprised if heroic is at the upper limit of difficulty that the wow community will allow for queue content.

I’ve ran almost all of the m0 so far. It seems to be in a good spot. With the gear they’re showering ppl with it shouldn’t take long for an alt to be ready for a m0. I’ve been running with ppl in the 460-470s range. Seems good to me. The only fight the even seemed remotely a challenge was the last boss in doti

not at the start of the expansion it wouldn’t - people struggle with how heroic is at the start of an expansion.

That “range” is now Mythic dungeons.

a lot of players skip heroics (and normals) and go straight into mythic on launch. If people have to run normal before heroics then that’s a good thing. All the recent changes have done is made it more transparent for noobs that its worth progressing from normal → heroic → mythic - > mythic plus,

but normal - > heroic is nowhere near the gap between heroic → mythic. Which in my mind says heroic is the flawed difficulty, not mythic 0. I think its an ego thing if people step into a heroic on launch after hitting cap and expect their normal skipped hp to carry them through mistakes.

False. It makes the grind LONGER. AKA wastes our time. I thought they were trying to respect our time? Some people have lives and don’t have endless amounts of hours to grind. And usually you only get a 1-2 weeks after getting max level to gear up for raids. PLUS M0 = normal raid ilvl. So if people gear up and do those, why would you bother raiding normal at all anymore? Most guilds did normal to gear for heroic. Now normal raiding = useless
