That's it?

The deepdive felt like this expansion is effectively a kiddie pool. You’ve done patches larger than this with more content.

No new tanks or healers, ONE new dps spec, no new support specs or admitting they were a bad idea and making Aug less of a nightmare to balance.

This should be an expansion with a new class, there should be a legendary and major systems at play. There should be more than just “housing and a patch worth of content”. Even the housing, which is a side time consumer with no bearing on actual content, sounds half done and “we will implement later in the expansion”.

What have you all been doing?

You have done nothing for the end of this expansion, effectively stopped support at the last major content patch, and the new expansion has so little content in it that it may as well just be a patch.

What… have… you… been… doing?

Status report please

I reckon housing is taking a lot of developmental resources.

Yes, because a single patch has ever included

4 new zones
8 dungeons
13 delves
PLAYER FREAKING HOUSING
A new allied race

all at once

Looking at the Priest tree I’m still trying to figure that out myself.

At this point with seasonal gameplay having been “the thing” for the last several expacs, i’m kinda thinking teh whole box price/box purchase + monthly sub for …THIS …level of service has GOT TO GO.

Either lower the per month sub price or GET RID of DLC/Box pricing. You only update things one season at a time, so what is the box price even for? Dont even get me started on how we’ve seen fewer and fewer .x’ releases since Wrath.

I think it’s disingenuous to not only continuously raise the price of the expansion (adding 3 days early access all but guarantees EVERYONE is gonna buy the “heroic titanium platinum unobtainium vibranium edition”) but to drop tech support/customer support, automate pretty much every system that a real human can still do better, but then offer fewer patches with sparse content (and filler crap in the .x.7’s); --meh…

Cutting all those costs and staff while raising prices? Give me a break. If I’m paying for a live subscription game + a box price every 2 years, I have the right to expect a hell of a lot better experience that I’m currently getting.

Yup, its why tuning has been lacking for certain armor types :frowning:

Even though they promised to remove the dead season, the devs just turned s3 into a older s4 model and removed fated raids.

Kinda saw this coming tho, the shareholders and ceo need another yacht

more than a patch but…not much of an expansion. 4 zones, 8 dungeons, and a raid (no, not one raid split in three, just one raid) are the baseline, though I’ve been honestly waiting for them downsize even that paltry standard.

Call it what it is- the expansion feature (beyond the basics) is just housing.

You can keep Earthen and Haranir, that was their waste of resources, I’m paying for things I didn’t order.

I’m disappointed too, they dodged a lot of questions. They kept so many answers vague or avoided them and derailed to another topic entirely unrelated to the questions and even when we had a question about housing, they kept that vague too and said “We’re thinking about it.” I don’t understand why they’re being secretive but it looks like they’re keeping it vague to get people to buy a half-baked expansion.

Housing could not be THAT difficult that they had to completely ignore EVERYTHING else. There’s absolutely NO WAY. If Housing really took most of dev time, WHY are they not giving us much information? We don’t know how the hell cross faction guilds will work, we don’t know how sharing rooms, decorations or housing “blueprints” will work, and we certainly don’t know anything about whatever Housing EXP is. Is this a new renown? Is it tied to the guild renown? Does it work like the Garrison levels? Give us something!

I mean but it doesn’t though.

You could practice a modicum of self-control if you want to play the expansion without the extras.

I dont see how you can say this. Houosing is huge. The new zones, quests, balancing, talents for all classes, new spec for DH, raids and dungeons, and a new race, all feel liike a good expansion.

Burining crusade for example had 11 dungeons and 3 raids at launch.

Midnight will have upon release 3 raids, 8 dungeons, 11 delves, and prey (which wasnt even a thing in burning crusade. )

Burning crusade had 7 zones
Midnight has 4 new zones plus housing

Im sorry but midnight seems like it has more stuff in it to do. BC while an ok expansion, was crap IMHO.

Lets look at WOTLK and compare
Zones 9 vrs midnights 4 and no housing in WOTLK

WOTLK had 8 dungeons and three raids, Midnight has 3 raids, 8 dungeons, and 11 delves

Sooo just about the same? Im sorry but this expansioon is just like every other one with only 5 zones less which IMHO I dont care. Zones dont make an expansion for me.

Does no one not know the amount of development poured into housing? Like the amount of resources it took.

Patches will most likely have more things added in time.

i mean, but it does though—if you’re a fan of the game and have been playing this long. Why would you NOT want this? It’s a bit of a spit-take, but I’m not wrong.

absolutely the last thing I want to hear in any of their Q&As- we all know that means ‘no’ by now.

Have you seen the rumored new talent trees? Some classes are having their mechanics altered in a big way.

You might want it, but you’re not forced to buy it to play the game. Saying that they’re raising the price on expansions is disingenuous.

but to drop tech support/customer support, automate pretty much every system that a real human can still do better, but then offer fewer patches with sparse content (and filler crap in the .x.7’s); --meh…

No fr, what are we paying $90 for? They’re cutting costs and cutting corners and then being secretive? This is EA before the big sale all over again.

4islands
Repetitive gear
Repetive dungeons and raids
A terrible female driven alliance story.
New math trees and no new skills.
Housing that means nothing.
Another demon hunter dps tree no one asked for.

You got it. WoW is 3 seconds to midnight.

I mean, OP is named GRUMBLE and in a guild called Salt Room, can we read between the lines here?

if you’re too daft to understand that adding things that most fans aren’t going to want to skip out on in favor of a lower price isn’t exactly what I just said --essentially raising the price of an expansion, then I’ll just smile and nod.

This technique works and I dont think Blizzard is being predatory about it. If I’d said this, then you can come at me with your response. I didn’t say that, so your response just seems unnecessarily nitpicky and trollish.

Regardless, if a game that was formerly 40 bucks is now 90 --then I think I can expect a better experience when I’m also paying a sub price on top of it.
