"That sword was aimed at something"

Assuming Blizz didn’t forget about the sword again, it seems we haven’t found out what it was aimed at. The most obvious answer would be the world soul, but it would be interesting if Sargeras was specifically aiming at Silithus because there was something going on underground there. Silithus was where the OG Old God C’thun was summoned, after all.

It’s the fly from that one episode of Breaking Bad

Silithus was the most disposable zone.

People who knew that Azeroth is some kind of world soul:

Illidan
Velen
Magni
Some nameless yazoos who were doing the mercenary work for those 3.
The dragons who camped out in the heart chanber during BFA.

That’s it. Unless there has been some other specific case of talking about it, nobody else necessarily knows. Certainly not Detective Thrall.

Obviously he was trying to get Scarab Lord but just showed up way too late and overcompensated.

It was aimed at the giant insects. Sargeras was an entomophobe.

they’re gonna pull out the sword and there’s gonna be a raid entrance. that’s all.
much hype for just the usual

No it was just Azeroth.

Sargeras needed to kill Azeroth before we arrested him because N’zoth was still around to turn her into a Void Titan and end all that ever was or will be.

He had no reason to believe we could stop N’zoth ourselves, so killing Azeroth then and there was his only shot at survival.

Blizz make up the story as they go, it’s pretty clear. Remember when they tried to tell us Zovaal was there the whole time XD

Are you forgetting about literally all of the titans on purpose?

Should have stabbed the ocean and drain the-

I hope it’s not more old god stuff.

Blizzard absolutely squandered N’zoth and the massive amount of potential it had, I don’t want to see them ruin another old god again.

If I had to take a wild stab, please pardon the pun, considering where the sword landed the heart chamber was only about 75 feet to the north. So I’m guessing they were probably aiming for the heart which would’ve actually destroyed the planet, which is why we spent a better part of an expansion helping put the chamber back together and save her.

He knew he was going to be captured but also knew he was coming back. Azeroth was just a good place to put it so he can find it again.

we could gone back to sword plot but, sadly dragon got away with that, when We have to chase Miss Crazy banshee lady

Nah it was just a cool enough line to put it in a trailer.

I do think it’s funny how the whole punchline for TWW cinematic was the sword, but we actually don’t do anything with it or address it at all in TWW. Makes you think they should’ve just replaced that whole segment with something about the “Radiant Song” or Xalatath or something.
