🐙 That One Time The Player Unleashed The Old Gods On The World For 10 Gold

:octopus: It wasn’t Sylvanas or the Twilight Hammer who are “The torch that lights the way for the Old Gods”, it’s the player. Apparently we automatically complete any quest we are given even if it’s “release N’zoth”. But at least you get a cool headsquid toy out of it!

:octopus: Interesting that the faction leaders have no reaction to the fact that YOU released N’zoth. I guess they realize you are a brainless automaton with no agency

Silly Threeslot, players aren’t people!

Is protest not-questing a thing? Because that’s the exact kind of thing I don’t want to do the quests for.

We have Omniscient Morality License.

Whatever we do, we know it’ll always work out and we will grab a couple dozen randos to murder some dudes. So might was well take the 10 gold now.

I just consider most questing to be non-canonical to my own characters’ stories. Also, this was related to my favorite artifact (aside from T’uure), so I really wanted to do this quest chain regardless of the consequences.

Yup, same boat here. There is the RP side of my WoW experience (in a sort of “what would me character do” sort of way) and then there is the experience/completion side of things where I just do the content to do it.

:octopus: Of course an Old God licking Void Elf Shadow Priest poster would say this

I have always maintained that we are a bunch of murder hobos that would do anything for some gold and the possibility of something shiny.

Who says I did it for the 10 gold?

I did it for the toy!

I really hate it when Blizzard makes our characters do stupid things.

N’Zoth really is the cleverest, most devious Old God. He realized that if you want anything done, all you have to do is put a yellow exclamation point above your head and offer a nice pair of pants.

:octopus: This was pretty stupid, but not as stupid as the time we gave Kel’thuzad’s phalactary to a CLEARLY evil cult of the damned member.

I don’t think the player releases N’zoth, they awaken him. Sylvanas is gonna use the dagger to release him, or try to.

“And if any shadowy weapons ask you to do favors for dem in de future
I suggest you decline.” -Talanji, actual quote from the quest text.

Thanks for the advice. We’re incredibly stupid.

Sure, protest not-questing is exactly what I’ve been doing ever since the pre-patch. But you have to accept that you probably won’t be able to fly if you don’t do it.

Eh, it’s fine. I’m barely doing anything in this expansion except raiding.

:octopus: It’s good to know that if you don’t do any “Evil scumbag BFA Horde” quests, you can only reach lvl 114.

The majority of my leveling in this expansion has been from Timewalking, actually!

I just pretended that as soon as the dagger started speaking, I was already under Old God influence and wasn’t thinking straight. Also, how likely is it that this quest will be related to the Tentacle lady leading the sheep off a cliff. We were technically led by a voided lady off a metaphorical cliff here.
