Let’s hear it! What was that one (non-legendary) item you always craved back in vanilla but you never got for whatever reason?
I still rue the fact I never got Red Dragonscale Protector, that felt like such an iconic shield for Paladins and the few times I saw the damn thing drop, the other Paladins had higher DKP. It will be mine this time around!
For me it was the Re-enforced Elementium Bulwark from BWL. Took me along time to finally get that.
As a Dwarf Hunter I had Roc and Loc but I wanted Larvae of the Great Worm.
This time I am going to be a NElf.
A complete Twill cloth armor set.
In the interest of progression I just went with the non set + Shadow pieces from BWL and let the rest of my locks in raid get full Nemesis. I managed to pick up a few pieces but not the shoulders. It kind of sucked looking like I was level 15 in my full raid gear. Nemesis was so cool looking.
I also kind of wish I had raided as a priest in vanilla because T2 (Transcendence) is one of my favorite armor sets.
I think pretty much everything else I got. Maybe I didn’t get a weapon better than Mageblade? I can’t remember and I was going through this old warlock’s vanilla gear the other day and much of it is missing. Victim to time and all the lapses in my account (and that one time I got hacked and someone bought my account and I had to get it back).
i remember some pieces of it going for 20+ gold on my server back in vanilla.
Talk about reaching for the stars!
Dark Edge of Insanity.
I had a Thunderfury, Bonereaver’s, Zin’rokh, Ashkandi, Kalimdor’s Revenge, Claymore of Unholy Might, and tons of 1-handers. Our guild never got a Dark Edge. Even deep into Naxxramas progression. I’m pretty sure we had something like 7 total Death’s Stings; enough for even a couple Warriors.
Oof, that’s rough.

I’m going for every 1 handed mace in the game sooooo… Ironfoe. I got a plan I’m gonna give 200g to every group member that is with me when it drops, and it’s always on reserve.

It will be pve not sure rolling with some friends. The plan is to solo farm the torches/buy off AH so we can do real quick Emp runs <15 minutes if we can do it.
I’ve got a pretty quick path that goes across the highway area instead of going the shadowforge key route. Just gotta test it in Classic cause all I did for lava runs in retail vanilla was the key route.
If you are taking notes here is what you do, you go left from the gate entrance and you can walk a tight rope of not aggroing the dark iron patrols and only killing 1 fire elemental, dodge mobs til last 2 packs of elementals, then kill the fire elemental boss, then do a normal lava jump. If you have a rogue with 2 torches that rogue can light the braziers by lighting one, vanish, prep, light different brazier, vanish again. Then your group can go through Lycium room without respawns. Then kill golem boss-kill emp trash-kill emp
None that I wanted, since I got pretty much all the ones I wanted. Though the one non-legendary item that i wanted the most atleast in vanilla was the Quel’Serrar, since it had to me one of the best unique looks out there. With only the greatsword of horrid dreams/forlorn visions (main hand, and a two sword from tbc), and the Red Sword of Courage from wrath imo though atleast.
