Y’know. That face

When designing the race they decided hey, players want 7 ugly faces and 1 sorta OK face, right? The last one being… that face

So it happens. 8 outta 10 players wind up picking… that face

Sometimes, you might get tired of seeing that face

But you can’t really blame us for choosing it, because the alternatives weren’t great.

I choose that face too, because it looks better than the rest. I’ve got two night elves with that face, and two worgen with that face in their human form. When I look at my roster I kinda wish there was more variety, but the alternative is… those other faces

A rogues gallery of doofuses, old people and freaks.

But hey, Night Elves are outdated now. We’ve got Nightborne, the cool new model with slick new options!

I would like to see more diversity among my characters, and among other people’s characters. So in the future, when designing a race, maybe make 80% of the options conform to what people wanna play–youngish, sorta good looking–rather than 80% of the options resembling emotionally unstable elderly folk? 'Cause sometimes I get tired of seeing that face

It’s the same with hairstyles. There are very few actual, viable options that aren’t completely horrendous looking.

My gnome priest and warrior have that face. Mute here originally had that face. I have another gnome mage now but she has the twisted turned up sour little face because she’s the angriest of them all.

But there are a lot of options that people are gonna ignore unless they are an intentionally silly looking character

I’m tired of my Nelfs mostly having the same face, because they decided we should be smiling like happy little hippy girls or something.

Perhaps this is much ado about nothing? Or, perhaps you’re playing the wrong game…

To be fair, a lot of those otherwise strange-looking faces go well with facial hair and hairstyle options. I’d reckon that was the intention with these faces that mostly just look ‘ugly’ when you’re looking at a face without many other customization options applied.

Nothing at all, but the ugly options should at most be equal to the attractive options. The problem is that the ugly options far outnumber the attractive ones, so the (majority) of people who want an attractive character wind up choosing the same options for certain races.

So true ! I have made many characters but anything not a night elf, blood elf, worgen or Draenei end up with “that face”. :laughing: some of the other options either appear to be old, sad, angry, or both sad and angry. Sometimes old sad and angry all together.

Lmao this is actually true. I went through all my Blood Elf characters and they are all exactly the same except for different hair styles and colors. But if you were to hide those every face is exactly the same.

We need updated faces and hair textures for all races.

Even if that race should belong to the Alliance.

I see where you’re coming from, but I’m glad for the ugliness. Video games, especially MMOs, are so full of pretty sparkly characters already that it’s to the point of cringe. I appreciate WoW’s art style and goofy, ugly looking characters.

I know I’m in the minority here obviously, after all this game is all Blood Elves all the time, but I think not only does ugly fit the theme, but whenever I play a game I like to roll ugly so I’m right at home here.

But yes… I can’t argue with WoW needing more customization, that’s for sure.

Most of my toons don’t have the “That face” of their race.

Except for the male night elf, because honestly, who was like “I bet everyone wants to be an ugly old man; let’s make a bunch of faces based on that”? …My nightborne boy has the ugliest face but I MAKE IT WORK.

I, too, wish that there were more good faces for a few race/gender combinations. They know who they are.

Oddly enough, I think female dwarves have the most good faces with one silly ugly one. But maybe I just like female dwarves.

It’s funny, but especially since the update, males are more cursed with “HERE’S A LOT OF HOMELY FACES AND ONE HANDSOME ONE” than the females.

WTB more handsome dude faces.
