anyone have any idea how to catch this little bugger in Ardenweald? Other that initial contact to start him bouncing around the clearing, every follow in grab ended up with my monk stunned.
Three other folk were still going at it unsuccessfully when I had to log out.
It helps to have a keybind for “Interact with Target” (found under Targeting section in keybinds). With a keybind you can just keep Renny targeted, get in range (as much as possible), and then spam the keybind instead of manually mousing over and interacting. Much faster and you don’t lose target as often. GL!
Do you have to be 60 to get the quest? I want him but have no idea how to trigger the quest. Went to the quest giver and they had nothing for me 
Yea, Wowhead is listing the quest as a lvl 60 one.
I don’t use keybinds when I play, is there a macro that can perhaps be used?
I can’t figure this quest out. Tried a few days ago. I’d click him a few times then he’d just stop moving, I wouldn’t get any credit and I couldn’t interact with him any further, then he just ran off and I was left scratching my head.
I did it Wednesday. Clicked him, I got ported to what appeared to be random locations to catch him again, then I ended up in Maldraxxus (I think that’s the zone) he was being held by a large mob, killed the mob, he dropped and I was unable to click him (the fox), I ran out of the room, waited for the bigger mob to reappear and he did, holding the fox again, killed him again and I was able to click the fox. I logged in yesterday and there was a quest to collect the pet.
Everyone has keybinds set up by default in the game menu, whether you use them or not. Go to the menu -> Key Bindings -> Targeting. Scroll to the very bottom and about 9 up will be Interact With Target. I don’t know what the default is, but I set mine to the forward slash: \ because it’s a key I don’t normally use. Just click on the little box under the Key 1 column, and then press the button you want to bind.
After that just target Renny, and then spam the button when he’s in range. It does seem like the chain is kind of buggy. The first time in Glitterfall Basin he bugged out and I had to drop the quest and try again. After that he teleported me to a couple places before I had to kill the big guy that was choking him. After that I was teleported to Glitterfall Basin. After I got to Glitterfall, I flew to the Heart of the Forest, or Refugee Camp for non-Night Fae Covenant, and he’ll appear with a quest to complete and get him.
So no follow up quest to get the pet has happened after completing, what do i have to do to get it to trigger?
I took a flightpath to another area in Ardenweald. Just picked one and went. On landing Renny showed up with a quest for me.
I had several fails on this so went to wowhead for tips. First off I tried very hard to not be moving when I clicked him. 2nd, I took off the speed buff before catching him, which may have been causing the first issue. After that teleported correctly to all locals, but I also had to fly and come back to see the followup quest.

Just completed the little idget’s questline, flew to the Camp and there he was!!
This quest suffers from some kind of bug?
Sometimes, I manage to catch Reni but I am not teleported anywhere.
A few times, I manage to capture Reni, and I am taken to Bastion, but then, I try to recapture the little fox, I can but then I can no longer interact with her and some time later, she disappears. I try to go back to where Ardenweald but nothing happens.
I found this fantastic workaround, using a toy. Lag is not an issue as you never interact with Renny.
Thanks to clever Brettski89 for finding it.
Step 1: Obtain the toy Malfunctioning Goliath Gauntlet]
Step 2: Start the Quest, take the buff from Clarion
Step 3: Don’t pick up the fox, just use the toy until the fox gets dusted (this should tick off the first step of the quest and allow you to progress)
Step 4: Make your way to Bastion and dust him again!
Step 5: Head to Mally and kill the quest Mob.
Step 6: Stand on top of Renny and spam-click him.
(if you have any issues with this step, you can drop the “running buff” leave the cave area fair enough to phase out, and then go back and kill the NPC)
Step 7: Hand in quest.
Step 8: Head to the Heart of the Forest and Renny should appear with another quest to add him to your party!
