Thanks to Deves, I haven't had to step foot in a dungeon

Delves are the wave of the future. I think the only time I’ve done a TWW dungeon – if at all, I can’t remember – was because of either a quest or because I accidentally clicked on it instead of Timewalking.

Make them harder, let them give better gear at higher tiers like 10 and 12. But yeah, delves are the way to go.

Raids can stay for those who like them and M+ for eSports. But Delves are where the main development focus and money should go.

Delves are pretty awesome. I kind of skip dungeons entirely as part of “casual gearing up” simply because Delves reward me so well (that, and the weekly outdoor activities).

It’s nice being able to skip the “grind Heroics” phase of gearing.

Besides the first couple weeks of an expansion where mythics aren’t available you can always skip the heroics part. Heroics are honestly useless in this era of WoW. Close to the same ilvl is needed for LFR, and most world events give better gear than heroics.

Let me preface my response by saying I genuinely think delves are a great addition to the game. Giving an accessible endgame way for all players including those who want to play solo to progress is amazing.

But the take that delves should receive the main development focus in WoW is delusional. As good as they are, delves can never be designed with the challenge of coordination with other players in mind. Despite the people who try to claim XYZ has rendered WoW “no longer an MMORPG,” WoW still is an MMORPG. A significant portion of the development should also go toward the challenges that require coordination with other players. Since delves can never feature that as a design pillar, they will never be a replacement for grouped content.

As wonderful as Delves are, they still need A LOT of work. And I mean, A LOT.

I’d like to see that happen.

Hope so. They’ve got a great thing going for the game in delves and the more they expand and improve them the better. People pay to play the game and they should not have to rely on the fickle nature of the community to do so. Delves are a fantastic way to make sure we all have something easily accessible to do when we log in.

mmo means thare are others playing the game at the same time as you.
it doesnt mean you must play the game with them or be forced to group with them.

not sure why people have the mindset that everything must be group content in an mmo, or that grouped content should be the primary focus.

the only reason i play now is because of delves and the friends i made along the way.

I’d rather blame myself for losing a Delve run than deal with four others yelling at each other about a failed key, or instantly losing if someone leaves.

Heck, I already had two people try to argue with me by saying “lol you can’t read” here alone, why in the world would I ever want to run anything with those people?

Turning WoW into a single player game is absolutely a way to have the franchise shut down.

So I guess you’re telling me I’m not allowed to enjoy M+ unless I’m into eSports? I don’t care for eSports but I love M+ and delves are super boring other than Zek’vir ?? … Thanks to dungeons, I don’t have to run delves.

Fortunately there is another option ready in game.

I knew it disrupts the narrative by admitting it. But it exists.

Delves can also be done in groups so the mode provides both a solo experience and cooperative one at that.

Forums like to forget the latter for some reason. But I agree with the other person, they need more work and the mode is still in its infancy state.

Umm, you can do delves with other players.

As long as the rewards continue to be a tier below other end game options

Which had nothing to do with what was originally said.

They need a higher top end for gear (with more difficulty ofc) and more variety/fun to keep me interested. After finishing zek++ all that’s left until S2 is a slow slow trickle of gear improvement, not enough to entice me to spend time in there.

Glad you found something you enjoy. I hope they improve on it more.

Does the OP count as something originally said?

That’s where WoW is heading into a single players game since a Troll VTK is a fail system, but Blizzard thinks nothing in wrong with the system, so players will finds ways to avoid a Troll VTK by doing Delves instead. No more groups of Trolls to deal with.

Why does it need to be below if it ultimately becomes more popular? Delves can be made harder.
